There is never any power without humility, trust in the Lord and OBEDIENCE.
"Receiving" the Spirit:
Acts 10 [SUP]47 [/SUP]“Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”[SUP]48 [/SUP]And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. So here we see that there were some that did receive the Holy Spirit that had not yet been baptized in water.
And in Chapter 19
19 It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples.[SUP]2 [/SUP]He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? this asks if they received empowerment WHEN they were converted to Christ” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard whether [SUP][a][/SUP]there is a Holy Spirit.”[SUP]3 [/SUP]And he said, “Into what then were you baptized? This tells us that these people WERE baptized before this encounter with Paul” And they said, “Into John’s baptism.”[SUP]4[/SUP]Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”[SUP]5 [/SUP]When they heard this, they were baptized [SUP][b][/SUP]in the name of the Lord Jesus.[SUP]6 [/SUP]And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.[SUP]7 [/SUP]There were in all about twelve men.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit (different from receiving the Holy Spirit upon salvation) is done with the laying on of hands.

Sister, Paul came across certain disciples but did not know what kind of disciples they were, and so he had asked them if they had received the Holy Ghost whe they had believed.

They did not know what Paul was talking about.

Then Paul asked them what water baptism they were identifying with. They said of John the Baptist's. So these were not disciples of Jesus Christ but disciples of John the Baptist as he did have some followers.

So then Paul went on to explain WHO John the Baptist testified of Whom was Jesus Christ. It was then that these certain disciples made the connection to Whom John was testifying of to Whom Paul was now testifying of. That means for Paul to tell them about Jesus Christ being the One John was prophesying about, these certain disciples were not believers in Jesus Christ to begind with. It was after Paul had told them about Jesus Christ that these certain disciples got water baptized in His name and then received the promise of the Spirit.

So using that reference as validating another baptism with the Holy Ghost on believers is not right. There really is only one baptism with the Holy Spirit as there is only one drink of the One Spirit in how we have been baptized into the One body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:[SUP]13 [/SUP]For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

To speak of any other baptism will hardly keep any one from thinking highly of themselves than they ought to think.

Romans 12:[SUP]3 [/SUP]For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: [SUP]5 [/SUP]So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

One preach in a book that there are three baptisms with the Holy Spirit. One that read the book testifies that he believes there are five baptisms with the Holy Spirit. No matter how you cut it, these are errant believers are testifying that there is more than one hope of our calling and more than one baptism with the Holy Ghost and so believers cannot rest in Jesus when they came to and believed in Him because Jesus LIED about never having to hunger nor thirst again to seek to be filled when we got saved when we first came to and believed in Him... and that is false.

Ephesians 4:[SUP]4 [/SUP]There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; [SUP]5 [/SUP]One Lord, one faith, one baptism, [SUP]6 [/SUP]One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

John 6:
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Paul can't go around telling ALL believers that they are complete in Christ if there was another baptism of the Holy Spirit that not all believers may have, now can he? Therrefore that other supernatural phenomenon is not of the Lord that you would deviate from preaching Jesus Christ and Him crucified to some other fanfare for believers to be seeking after.

And if you HAD received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, NONE of what the Wagners and Chuck Pierce say would sound strange...you would have understanding and revelation. So you can CHOOSE to not to ask for His Gift of the Holy Spirit and continue in mediocrity...which, sad to say, is what most on this site are doing, OR you can ask someone that does believe in this BIBLICAL baptism to lay hands on you and impart the GIFT of the Holy Spirit so that you Can be a DOER (James 1:22-23) of His Word.

Look at what Jesus said about asking the Father for the Holy Spirit which is done by what? Knocking at the door of Jesus..

Luke 11:[SUP]9 [/SUP]And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [SUP]11 [/SUP]If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? [SUP]12 [/SUP]Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? [SUP]13 [/SUP]If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Now for a believer to ask for the Holy Spirit again is to testify as if the Father did not give you the Holy Spirit the first time as if He had given you a stone instead of bread or a serpent instead of a fish. Thaqt is the truth in His words above to testify that no believer will be asking to receive the Holy Spirit again so that they may know the differencebetween the real indwelling Holy Spirit and the spirit of the antichrist which is in the world coming with signs and lying wonders.

Can't help but wonder how many of today's "apostles" are going to die the same manner of death as the true apostles of old did ? I'm also curious as to how many people have been healed by merely passing thru today's apostles shadows ? Anybody out there know how many ? This is exciting :)
I know several. And they suffer just like back then.
