"E. The Old Testament and the Gospel (9:1-2).
"9 The priests are noble, but the High Priest, entrusted with the Holy of Holies, is nobler; he alone has been entrusted with the secrets of God; he himself is the door to the Father [cf. John 10:7,9; John 14:6], through which enter Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and the prophets and the apostles and the Church. All these are in the unity of God [cf. Psalm 117:20 LXX], 2. But the gospel has something distinctive: the coming of the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, his passion and resurrection. For the beloved prophets made a proclamation related to him; but the gospel is the perfection of imperishability [cf. 1 Cor. 15:5-54]. All things together are good, if you believe with love."
