“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity . . . It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”—author Melody Beattie

Gratitude is Transformational

“Growing one’s gratitude appears to have a radical and transformational effect on character because it is one of God’s primary vehicles for inducing (or “parenting”) other Christian qualities. Stated from a Christian worldview, gratitude is a vehicle that makes us better, more Christ-like people.” (1)

Transformation can take place within as we begin to appreciate and practice humility, gentleness, forgiveness, and other attributes of God.

Transformation of our circumstances can occur when we adopt a more grateful attitude as we become more understanding, accepting, and trusting that God has everything under control. When this happens, even adverse circumstances do not appear as negative as before.

Transformation can also take place in relationships, as those involved begin to appreciate one another and be more grateful of the relationship.
