The Promise
God moves a mountain for us.
We name it the Devil’s Tower.
There is no nature in our hearts,
and we are overjoyed.
Up the deception we climb,
and gaze out at our conquest.
The angels fall to nothingness
at the evil’s laughter.
Nothing pure can survive
the happiness of cruelty.
We tie bonds and promises,
and think it charity.
It is the thought that counts,
the promise of a deed,
an outstretched hand
to those dying below,
nothing but a wave,
not even saying hello,
only a declaration:
Fear us, we are Gods.
Not even surgery
can make your eyes like ours,
but you shall try to make them blue,
although you will go blind,
bleach your skin, paint your child,
and still fall far behind.
Our perfect eyes can see flawlessly.
The choice is only ours.
When renewed, the time will tell
if the promise holds.
