The mighty men they are full of hope
Even as they tumble downwards down the slope
The prideful rejoice they are lifted up high
They cast us down with their crooked eyes
The unjust sits in authority, no, he seeks no reason why
To oppress the people they are happy to neglect their cries
I saw a dirty man so happy to be washed and cleaned
But the jealous prevailed on him, him they demeaned
I saw the darkest pot calling all the kettles black
I saw the fallen one accuse the innocent without a slack
"Aha" he said "I knew he would say to his filth he would never go back"
And he joined the mob and pounced on the innocent man in a vicious attack
Where is the strong defender of the weak?
Where is the light in this darkening world, bleak?
How come the evil ones are held in such high acclaim?
How can they not feel even the smallest bit ashamed?
Why do the oppressors get praises heaped to their name?
Why do all the righteous get beaten, maltreated, and defamed?
Where is the Avenger of the innocent blood?
Where is the Mighty Hand that washed the world away with a Flood?
Where is the God that brought Israel out of Egypt to safety?
Where is the One that sent the wicked rulers into harsh captivity?
Where is the Savior that with truth set so many men free?
