To whom are we following?
At first, we say that we are following Jesus. Nevertheless, until that point is this truth? Do we crave for hearing the Christ’s voice in person, or we are satisfied only with the companionship of His servants?
See the declaration of Shulamite to her beloved:
• Son 1:7 -> “Tell me, You whom my soul loves, where do You feed, where do You lie down at noon? For why should I be as one who is veiled beside the flocks of Your companions?”
She didn’t wish to go astray after the companions of her beloved. She yearned for being together with her beloved. Spiritually speaking, we ought to long for hearing Jesus’ voice (see Deut 28:1,2; Mat 11:15; 13:9,43; Mark 4:23; Luke 14:35; Rev 2:7,11,17,29; 3:6,13,22).

• Pro 15:7 -> “The lips of the righteous send forth knowledge, but the heart of the foolish is not so.”.
How can we assure that what are being preached is correct? With so many doctrines divulged around the world, how can we know the truth? How can we imitate (follow) Jesus without knowing Him (see 1Cor 11:1; Heb 6:12)?
We risk imitating an abomination. See what Jeremiah said:
• “So says Jehovah, Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths where the good way is, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.” (Jer 6:16).
So, have a good day pining for the intimacy with Jesus without never conforming in staying far away from His presence. Remember: the presence of great men and women anointed with the Holy Spirit never replace Jesus in person. Jesus said TO GO TO HIM (Mat 11:28).
