Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum and have been browsing here and there. I didnt notice another thread on the subject of Treasure Hunts so I decided to start one myself.

First, I'll define what a "Treasure Hunt" is. Basically it's when a group (although a person could do this alone) gets together and asks God to give them prophetic clues that lead to a person needing ministry. This ministry could include prophetic ministry or some kind of healing, physical or emotional.

A variation on this uses art. In this case the person doing the treasure hunt asks God to give inspiration for drawing or painting. Then, after the artwork is finished, the person asks God to reveal who the artwork is for.

Both of these can be really fun. Its always so cool to see how God blesses people.

I'll share some of the stories from me and my friends. Please feel free to post testimonies of what God is doing in your ministry as well.

It was a dark and stormy night...

Ok, not really.. I just always wanted to say that :).

We had some visiting speakers at our ministry school from a popular church in Redding CA. One of the ladies, Donna, is particularly gifted in prophetic art. So, my wife, Donna and I were on an outreach team and we decided to go to a local mall. Donna drew this amazing picture. It was a tall rose and a small rose that looked kind of sick. The tall rose was bent over the smaller rose with heart shaped tears falling on the smaller rose. My picture was rubbish and so I didnt give it to anyone.. YES, I'm a big chicken when it comes to art.

So, we are walking through the mall with our pictures in hand. For about 15 minutes Donna doesnt see anyone to give her art to. Then, she notices an old lady and a younger man, maybe 40 years old, walking away from us about 5 stores down. Donna felt she was the one so we walked fast after them. We followed them into a sporting goods store and up the escalator. Donna approached the woman, introduced herself and explained that she had a drawing for her that she felt reflected Gods heart for her. While she was talking to the lady, the man turned to talk to my wife and I. It was only then that we realized he had some form of autism or mental disability. Needless to say the old lady was quite touched by the drawing.

Later I was thinking that even if I knew that lady needed encouragement because of her situation, it would have been so difficult to find words to approach her. But the artwork was easily able to cross that barrier. Yea God!

Pretty much every person on planet earth needs some sort of ministry.

Healing and crazy people :)

So. Three of us decided to do a treasure hunt a few weeks ago. Here were some of the clues.

-A mall near a car dealer and a pizza hut.
-Someone with a problem with their left leg.
-A small teddy bear holding a red and pink heart shaped balloon.

There were more but those are the ones I remember.

So, based on the mall clue, we headed to a mall on the far side of town. One of our friends thought the teddy bear reminded her of the chocholate shop. When we found the chocholate shop it was full of bunnies, easter and all :). But way in the back there was a little brown bear holding a chocholate heart shaped sucker with a red wrapper. There were a few other customers and one lady behind the counter in the store. My friend who is really awesome with prophetic stuff felt that the lady behind the counter might be the person with the leg problem. Sure enough, she had a problem with her left leg. Was she ever suprised to be asked about that :). She was busy with customers so we told her we would come back later to pray for her leg.

As we were leaving my wife suggested that I ask God if He wanted to speak to anyone. When I looked at the customer next in line, I immediately knew a bunch of stuff about her. Unfortunately, the thing I knew was that she is very afraid that she is crazy because she hears voices. I have no idea how to approach someone who is having that issue so I gently went up and introduced myself. I said something about us sometimes praying for people and she immediately became angry and said she didnt want to hear anything we had to say. So, we walked out of the store.

Of course, I felt bad for the lady so I waited outside for round two :). When she left I spoke to her again. I told her that I knew she didnt want prayer but that sometimes God tells me things about people and that I could see that she is very sensitive spiritually. (I was trying to find a way to be tactful) And I said that I know you are hearing voices and I was wondering if we could talk about it. She turned about 10 shades of angry. She was angry with me, the entire evangelical christian movement etc. I kindly apologized for upsetting her and explained that I actually do this sort of thing all the time. I said its nothing more than if you notice someone with interesting shoes and stop to talk to them. Only in her case, I noticed that she hears voices. She asked sarcastically if I was psychic and then said that I was just saying something that could apply to everyone. Then, sadly she stormed off. Oh well, I tried.

A few minutes later my friends returned from chasing other leads and we went back into the chocholate store to pray for the lady with the leg problem. When we walked in, she saw me and laughed. She had overheard my initial attempt to talk to the lady hearing voices. She said that when I left the lady leaned over the counter and said to her "Can you believe the nerve of those people? Dont they know I'm Mother Earth!"

So we, prayed for the nice ladys leg. I dont think there was much immediate improvement but she was very encouraged that God had sent people to pray for her. She was very sweet and being a charismatic herself even gave my wife and I a prophetic word.

All in all, what a fun trip to the mall.
