Plain and simply... do you or don't you believe in the existance of E.T.s? Why or why not?

Why do I ask? Because some Christians think that alien life forms would somehow be against the Bible. And personally, I don't see how that could be against the Bible, I mean... why wouldn't God create more intelligent life out there? It's a big universe, we couldn't pssibly be all alone in it... could we? It's a pretty sad fact if we are....

well, I do believe we are the only ones especially created by God (the only ones that can be saved)

as for life.. well, to be honest I don't believe that either... But I am definitly not saying there isn't any, cause, thinking of how insanely large the universe must be, it does seem kinda odd for God to create all of that, and then just put us tiny creatures here in the middle of it...

but.. if there is life out there I doubt they seek up a "race" that is ruining their planet and waring half the time
 
I used to think the same as you buddy, but then someone asked me why we were so unlucky then to have Lucifer cast down on OUR planet and not any other. Does God love us more than His other extra-terrestial creations by allowing the curse of death to fill the land and then send His son to redeem US? Meanwhile other life forms are just left to their own world? And to say they are more advanced than us and have technology that is far superior to ours would mean that they are better developed than us... so who's image are they created in then if we never hear of Adam and Eve having superior knowledge in technology, if they were created perfect and in God's image?
I'm not having a go at ya, these are serious questions that someone asked me and I just couldn't give a biblical answer to. It's nice to think that we are not alone in this universe but I believe that as a race we are so special to God that we ARE the only things special enough to have His full focus on.
One more thing though, the belief in aliens has opened up a whole new generation of people believing that we have been created by extra-terrestrials billions of years ago. That they came to this earth and planted the seeds of life and through evolution we now find ourselves ready to recieve them once again as this world is in need for a saviour. Stephen Hawkins has just recently affirmed this belief! So I believe the alien concept is continually been pushed forward to have people see creation not through spiritual eyes but through blind eyes as a form of intergalactic evolutionary project removing the idea of the Spiritual God, creator of Adam and Eve and instead replacing Him with a god idea that exists in human dimensions.

they're not "ET" they're simply demons, fallen angels, nephilim etc. check out bill schnoebelen on google video, very interesting seminars on ufo's, anti-christ, and the occult

commendez: i guess that is a very valid way of looking at it, i've heard the theories that aliens are the reason we as humans exist, and i personally crack up whenever someone mentions it (not out loud of course, that would be plain rude.) again, thanak you you've given me something to think about :)

guy: when i say, "E.T." it's to save me the time of typing out "extra-terrestrial" because i'm probably not spelling it right... i'm not referring to the cute little alien guy in the movie that i've always hated... so in that context, fallen angels and what not could be considered E.T.s because they are beings that are not living on this earth which is the meaning of extra-terrestrial... just sayin

kilden: thanks for taking this light-heartedly as i meant it to be, personall, i honestly hate the term ufo... an airplane is considered a ufo by someone who's never seen one before :)
 
you're welcome Panda_girl :) I think I know where t_o_guy is coming from by saying they are fallen angels, and it's not an attack on the idea that someone has regarding aliens and so forth but it is a widely growing concept that the reason for aliens being so popular is because they are the manifestation of demons/fallen angels on this world. We have to remember that since evolution has taken hold of the education system, God as in the creator of this earth, simply doesn't make sense to a non believer because science says He can't exist due to evolution not creation being the cause for where we find ourselves today.
This means that if demons were to strike fear in the hearts of people by showing themselves as being demons, people would run to the nearest church to seek guidance for spiritual attacks. So by having the alien craze sweep the world they have free reign for all those who don't have the Holy Spirit in them. This isn't just religious propaganda, an actual study held by a non Christian group found that the only group of people NOT to have a close encounter of any kind were true God fearing Christians. A report also stated that in some cases an 'alien' has manifested itself in physical form, but as soon as the person began to proclaim the name of Christ, the 'alien' fled (don't forget that many people who aren't Christians start calling on Jesus' name when they are scared or fearing death)! The study was so conclusive that some of the people making the study actually became born-again Christians afterwards!
As far as UFO's go, don't forget that the technology we have available to us is at least 10 years behind what the government has available. Think about how much society has changed from the year 2000 to now. So for us to see 'alien aircrafts' in an actual physical form is not necessarily a demonic invasion lol, but it could be an actual craft capable of maneuvers we can't imagine possible.
Anyways, I'm sorry if I put a real serious feel to a relatively light-hearted suggestion. I still joke around with my mates about aliens n stuff but they remain just that, jokes haha.

I don’t think it is a matter of whether or not I believe in UFOs, from my point of view. I think it is possible there is life on other planets, though the laws of physics would make it difficult for living beings to travel back and forth between planets, as I understand it.

haha, that's awesome, i've never heard that before... but then again, they aren't gonna show those stories on NatGeo and Discovery are they?

and i agree with you 33; and again i say, I honestly don't like the term "UFO" it just sounded like a better thread title than "Aliens" or "Extra-Terrestrials"

how can you say it's irrational? From a scientific view it's actually quite logic.... (not that I normally defend science, but I strongly disagree with you saying that it's irrational)

there is no sound scientific reason why there should be life on other planets and there is zero evidence of it
 
well, there's quite a few places in the universe we know next to nothing about yet :)

there is a whole universe we know nothing about - what we do know is that the only life that exists is on this planet and was a deliberate work of the creator
 
if it's logic you're going for then it seems irrational to think that there isn't life on other planets... i mean, this is an infinite universe, ever expanding, why would God create only one planet out of billions fit for life? it wouldn't make sense... and then there's always the theory of fallen angels too, nephilim were living on this planet bebore we were... whose to say they didn't go to others as well?
