Helloooo there everyone!

So lately there've been some things that constantley make me worried.

I've been raised in a christian household and we have always been going to church every sunday. In my opinion it is essential to go to church, not so much to get saved but to remain strong and be a help to your brothers and sisters.

My dad now stopped going to church and even wanted to forbig me to go to church, but I told him in a respectful manner, that I am an adult and that I can choose if I want to go or not. He accepted it.

Now, I'm really concerned about him. I want to help him, but I don't know how. He got very distant when it comes to God and spritual things. He doesn't read the Bible, doesn't pray, doesn't spend time with God and what's worse, he treats us as his family poorly. It bothers me.

A man is supposed to be the leader of a family, but to be honest, I don't think that my father is able to do so.
How am I supposed to treat him, how am I supposed to react?

I'd really appreciate some advice from you guys:)

God bless all of you:*<3

First of all he is your dad, so you do need to continue to treat him with respect, which you seem to do anyways from what you are saying.
Second it seems like you dad really needs to find God. From your description the only thing he has or even had was religion. This does not help him or the family. Only a real relationship with Jesus Christ will get him there. On top there seems to have some offenses crept in on his part. Maybe he was hurt by someone or something the "church" said or did or some event in his life that made him more or less slowly lose faith in God and then anger was a result, against either the church per se, a person in it or against God or all the above. It is important that you keep praying for him that God would draw him back and open his eyes to the truth, not the religion that he had, the motions to go to church on Sunday to do one's "duty". It's a process how the enemy leads people away from God and it's also a process to get him back to God or really open his eyes for the first time. Now God can do that fast or slow, depends on your dad, that's why praying for him and your family is important. You can stand in the gap for them and intercede.
Maybe ask him what happened that made change his mind, see what he says. Somewhere on the way he had given up and needs to see now that his life without God is getting very empty and purposeless. God forces none to come to him, so this has to be a volunteered action, so besides talking and praying and living your life the way God wants it, is the only thing you can really do here. But be careful not to get drawn into any heated discussions, arguments or accusations with your dad or your family, that is rather counterproductive.
Protect yourself with the armor of God daily and put a hedge of protection with the blood of Jesus over your whole family. Pray the prayers for revelation and realization of the power of God over them (found in Eph 1 and 3). Stand your ground in Jesus.

imperfection: I will certainly be praying for you and your family. It was great that you were able to tell your dad that you need to go too church. God should always come first. As someone who has grown up with a dad that doesn't really share the same beliefs, I know it can be hard not to do as he (your dad) would want you to do and actually do what the Lord would have you do. Keep strong and trust God to show you what to do. :)

I suggest praying lots and just simply loving your dad. I know that he is suppose to be the head of the household, but if he isn't under God you need to be careful. Over the years I have seen my dad change dramatically and I haven't pushed anything on him. My sisters and I have simply tried to live our lives as God would want and we have shared with dad when the opportunity came along. We can't force others to believe, but certainly can pray that the Lord's will be done.

Trust God to help you all through this season.

Imperfection, keep strong in God and believe in Him. My pray with you and your family. Its happened in my family long time ago, but in amazing and unpredictable way, God was change my father's character. If God can do it to my Dad so, i believe He can do it to yours. Keep praying for him.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 say
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight"

Keep respecting your Dad. You can hate his attitude but don't hate your Daddy.
You never walk alone.. I believe all this site members will keep praying for you.. Especially Our Lord, He always be with you..
God bless you

First of all thank all of you for your advice. It's really nice to have people to encourage you when you really need it.

It's so hard to be loving and you know, be sweet to him, when I often feel like I don't matter to him and everything he lives for is, well, more or less himself.
He wouldn't do anything for the family or for me. All he does is demand and force things on us, without ever thinking about sacrifying himself.

I know, no one said it's going to be easy.......just....just keep praying for me, guys.

Loves
