Undertake Jesus’ yoke and yield to His forbiddances!
• “Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” (Pro 13:13).
Many times, we envisage liberty as the best thing. Well, if we are in Christ, yes. On the contrary, liberty means more opportunities to sin:
• “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” (Rom 1:28).
And, of course, more occasions to reap tares:
• “They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.” (Pro 1:30,31).
You can ask: but why doesn’t the Creator warn us? He does (as we can see below in regard to Israel):
• “And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.” (2Ch 36:15,16).
Nonetheless, we can’t stand giving in to His limits:
• “And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:” (Isa 5:5).
He always tries to debar us of going to the hell, but, most of the times, we try to overturn the hurdles that He arise to watch over us. In addition, many times the Creator allow that some injustice come to be done against us just to hamper us of going or doing what will bring us much trouble (hence Jesus to instruct us not to resist to the perverse – Mat 5:38:42).
If we really desire the look of Jesus on us, behold the best thing to do:
• “For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.” (Isa 66:2).
There is a promise in favor of this:
• “Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.” (Mal 3:16).
So, have a good day staying in the fear of the Creator and, thereby, being remembered by Him continuously. After all:
• “The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” (Psa 19:9-11).
