Some people claim we're in the last times, and say we're in a time of deceit and apostasy.
The same people who say this, from my experience, are also the ones who call for "unity" and claim people are "quenching the Spirit" and causing "division", if they rigorously test "manifestations of the Spirit".
I find this incredibly self-contradictory.
If one believes we're in an age of deceit and apostasy, shouldn't our first reaction be to rigorously test "manifestations of the Spirit"?
If one truly believes apostasy is going to abound, shouldn't you be open to having division? Division between what lines up with God's word, and what doesn't line up with God's word?
People who call for this division free unity, all in the name of not "quenching the Spirit", may in fact be the very ones engaging in the act of quenching the Spirit!
False manifestations of "the Spirit" unopposed, all in the name of "unity", actually creates an atmosphere for the Spirit to be quenched.
True manifestations of the Spirit from the light of God's holy word get quenched when deceit from false manifestations abound, and are unopposed.
Has "unity" become the idol that quenches the true works of the Spirit that shine forth out of God's already revealed word?
