Untangle the Knots...One Day at a Time

Picture your life as a jumble of shoestrings all tied up in knots, each shoestring a different color. The different shoestrings represent the different elements of your life, such as your family, your job, etc. This jumble of knots could represent many of our lives—with everything all knotted up. Each knot represents a problem, and the process of untangling those knots and straightening out those problems is going to take a bit of time and effort. It took a long time to tie all those knots, and it will take some time to straighten them all out.

If it sometimes seems that you're not making any progress, it's because the Lord is untying your knots one at a time. It may be hard, and it may take time, but if you will commit yourself to the process of getting well, sooner or later you will see victory in your life and experience the freedom you have wanted for so long.

Maybe you're standing in the way of your own healing. Have you ever asked yourself, "Do I really want to get well?" Did you know there are people who really don't want to get well? It takes some people years to overcome their problems…and some never do. They don't really want to move past their problems. It seems they've become accustomed to having those problems around, and they're just content to live with them.

Sometimes people actually get addicted to having problems. It becomes their identity—their life. It defines everything they think, say and do. Their life seems to revolve around their problems. If you have a deep-seated and lingering disorder, you may be tempted to make that the focal point of your life. But I encourage you not to give in to that temptation. If you do, it will try to control your thinking and dominate every conversation you have. Don't let your life be taken over by your problems.

If you really want to get well, you'll have to stop using your problem as a means of getting attention, sympathy or pity. We get angry with those who tell us the truth. And the truth is that before we can get well, we must really want to be well—body, soul and spirit. We must want to get well badly enough that we are willing to hear and accept the truth about our situation.

Make a vow right now that from this moment on you are not going to waste any more of your valuable time feeling sorry for yourself and wallowing in self-pity over things you cannot change. Promise yourself that you'll stop using your problem as a crutch in your life. Instead, pledge that you will untangle the knots a little at a time, while living each day to the fullest, looking forward to what God has in store for you as you follow Him…one day at a time….

Wisdom, great wisdom, in what both miladies said.

What caught me most is that, yes, we usually don't spend days, or, even, Weeks piling up problems, we can often spend a lot longer time than that 'rats nesting' our shoestrings.

The good news is that Jesus will show us The Way to loosening, unwrapping, threading, and, YIKES!, even cutting those knots out. Oh, but be careful cutting, because some of those shoestrings are inlaid with gold, so, valuable, and, so, therefore, gently use your nails to dig into the various knots and maybe even cut your nails before starting this project, because the fingernail could splinter into the fleshy area of your nail. So, you may need to use other tools, like a thin straight, pointed, steel rod in order to diflg into a so-tight knot, to loosen it from the 'nest.'

It looks so easy to undo this ball of yarn, but, no, the knots hide in there, a whole lot of them, it's going to cost you a lot of time to get this baby undone...

But all you have is time, right, His time. You've, afterall, been given much, so much through the years from Him, and, this is YOUR time. Really, you need this shoestring 'nest' undone, for you realize now it only LOOKS like a ball of shoestrings the size of a hip-hop, it's really a ball and chain ! Ick!! It's several chains !! And several balls and knots. You realize you are at the end of your rope and you pray and feel RENEWED. You get a steel rod and trim your nails and even a pair of scissors which you say and pray you carefully can use so as not to damage any of the golden (and silver) 'strings.'

You ger a holy urge to call on a friend for help, they are struggling too, you find out, and, they tell you this will help them too. Before you know it, and, it only took a couple days, not nearly as long as you thought and, you only had to cut a couple strings at the beginning of the work and the rest came undone You're now so happy, filled with joy , you think why it all went so easy, why? 'Maybe THAT'S because I turned to you, Lord, every step of the way of this project.'

Then, you suddenly feel this feeling come over you , you realize a freedom inside and begin to get more involved with your church, your community, you give those colorful shoelaces to the kids' church leader, who gives them away each Sunday to kids, there were so many.

You keep the 6 gold and silver inlaid shoestrings, take them to a jeweler who says there worth $10 each in gold value. But you pray and then decide to take them to an auction in Jersey, where you live, you find out they're rare, worth hundreds each....

....hundreds of thousands, because they belonged to Queen Elizabeth (of England) and her son just happens to be in the states at THIS auction and he remembers mom talking about her missing gold inlaid shoelaces. 'Charles, mine have my royalty initials on them, 'Q.B.' is sewn into the shoestrings. Oh, how those are special to me, my dad gave them to me after I waited until marriage to have sex.'

He checks, there are 'Q.B.' initials on all 6 of the shoelaces. You are just about become filthy rich

Trust God, for His riches will come, whatever 'riches' are best for you to glorify Him, they will ome, and, 'they' will royally bless you.
