The Apostle Paul was rejoicing and overwhelmingly thankful as he spoke about the glorious inheritance made available for every believer! In Ephesians 1, Paul speaks about this very inheritance, and in verse 17 and 18, he prays that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation to have a deep and intimate knowledge of who He is, so that the eyes of our hearts will be flooded with light, to know the inheritance we have in Him. When we know Who our Father is, we understand what our inheritance entails. Do you notice that Paul referred to God, as the Father of glory? That word glory encompasses everything that exists in God. In the original Greek, it means the heavy weight of the fullness of God.

Having said that, I must remind you of a conversation Jesus had with His Father in John 17:22, where He said, "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one..." That glory Jesus was referring to is not fame or prestige, it's the fullness of all that is in God. This is the inheritance we have received through Jesus, as children of God. Now, the vital key to living in, and enjoying this inheritance is found in the word light that is mentioned in both the Colossians and Ephesians scriptures. The Bible often refers to light as knowledge that is found in the truth of God's Word. When a born-again child of God chooses to walk in the light of God's Word - by meditating on it, the Holy Spirit can reveal its truth to his heart. As he chooses to walk in and obey that truth, refusing to accept anything less that what it declares - he is in the light. And according to the Word of God, that's exactly how we enjoy being partakers of our spiritual inheritance. Jesus has done all that is needed for us to walk in and experience the glory of God in our lives, now it's our responsibility to walk in the light of His Word, to enjoy it!
