Thanks Faithlife, but I can't go out and do stuff due to my caregiving duties.

All my hobbies fell by the way side when I was caregiving for my mum.
Just know you are not alone.
I think the only time I could get away, was if someone else took over for a while, and even then I would wander around like a lost soul, its only when I got taken out for a driving lesson I could legit escape the house.
I didn't even read a book for a whole year or so, as I'd read them all and couldn't get to a library for new ones. And reading things on your phone is not the same.

My sister had her escape/fun thing to do down pat. She runs marathons. She escapes by literally running away.

What do people do for fun these days? I really want to know.
how about these activities: Bible studying, listening to Christian music & pastors, watching them on tv, biking, walking, playing an instrument, assisting the elderly & handicapped, playing games, sports, making items, creating & inventing, sightseeing, picnicking, swimming, boating, mountain climbing, antiquing, museum attendance, dining, & historical places to visit,.

Finally got my bicycle fixed all I need is to find a new bell and then I'm away. Even if it's just a spin round the block, I like riding it's fun. Some people do it in groups, it's nice with a friend, but it's fine to do on your own if you smart about it.

My sister runs marathons too and goes on hikes just about everyday even though she works full time, but she started doing it because her husband died.

certainly, Christian love given by you & for quite the length of time. in some ways, it must have been joy to care for your mum. you will be remembered positively in lots of people's minds. i took care of my grandma in a nursing home for about 9 years. the last year & half of that was taking care of dad too.

I don't know, its humbling to care for your parent and to see them weak and frail... I think the joy was up to the point when it became too much for me but we had a good support from Hospice, and the hospital nurses are amazing, with what they can put up with and see everyday.

I was going to say we had fun fun fun until I crashed and my Toyota Funcargo got taken away. That was a hard time. Mum was like 'it was only an accident, you can get it fixed' but she didn't know anything about cars and I knew it was a write-off. A very expensive write -off. Before that I was mum's personal chauffeur lol
