  • Colossians 3:12-14 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Charity in this verse is translated agapē. Which means: Love, that is, affection or benevolence. (Strong’s definition) Love is above everything listed here. Love is more important than forgiveness!

  • Mark 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

If you can read these verses and still think that love isn’t important, you are wrong! Christ clearly stated that it is important.

  • 1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

If you don’t love, than you don’t know God. You cannot claim to know God if you don’t love because He is love.

  • 1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Not only has Christ told us that love is important, He has defined love. Not the wavering, wishy-washy love of this culture. But the love that would give it’s life.
