What is the yield of our life?
• “The fear of Jehovah prolongs days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.” (Pro 10:27).
It comes the question: why the fear of the Creator prolongs days? Take a look at this:
• “You turn man to dust, and say, Return, sons of men. For a thousand years in Your sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which grows up. In the morning it sprouts and shoots up; in the evening it is cut down, and dries up. For we are burned up by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are troubled.” (Psa 90:3-7).
Those who doesn’t fear the Creator end up being used as His vessels of His wrath and, of course, being burnt up by His anger (see Romans 9:22). Their days, although when they are spreading their turpitude, looks like inexorable, all of a sudden, they will vanish like the dew of the dawn (see Job 31:1; Isaiah 40:6-8).
Who, nevertheless, fear the Creator, will be used as vessel of His mercy (Romans 9:23). For them, it will fulfill what is written below:
• “But, beloved, let not this one thing be hidden from you, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2Pe 3:8).
It’s isn’t in vain that the psalmist said:
• “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” (Psa 84:10).
After all, with Jesus, one single day will be more profitable than a thousand years far from Him. In other words, with Christ, we are able to do in one day what we never could do without Him, even if we lived a thousand years.
A thousand years without Christ is like a single day, for it isn’t doable to yield anything new under the sun (Ecc 1:9). It is a monotonous routine.
So, have a splendid day walking in novelty of life (Rom 6:4) and having your days enlarged in efficacy, far beyond what you can achieved (see 2Cor 10:14-16).
