The reference in Ecclesiastics is not limited to the old testament. But remains under the Sun the temporal time keeper that will disappears in the new heavens and earth .There will be no night God's glory the light. . Alzheimer's as memory loss is universal part of corruption aging preparing our new spirits in the new heaven and earth drying the tears from under the Sun never to be remembered or come to mind forever more. Aging provide no mercy under the sun Some suffer one aspect or another .Alzheimer's a terrible tribulation of corruption especially with the younger.
It's funny how different we (as in everyone, not just you and I) see the same parts of the Bible.
Ecclesiastes to "the man who walks under the sun"
Ecclesiastes 11:7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun
(To be young with good eyesight is sweet)
Ecclesiastes 11:8 But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all yet let him remember the days of darkness for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.
(But old age is coming and it can last a long time)
Ecclesiastes 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
(Enjoy that youth, but best be doing it Gods way)
Ecclesiastes 11:10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
(Youth is fleeting)
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them
(Getting old just isn't near as fun)
Ecclesiastes 12:2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain
Ecclesiastes 12:3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
(muscles start to weaken, posture isn't near as upright, teeth are starting to fall out, eyesight waning)
Ecclesiastes 12:4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low
(don't want to go out as much, losing appetite, sleeping during day, losing hearing)
Ecclesiastes 12:5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets
(falling down becoming scary, gardening a problem???, personal desire just not the same, friends dying around you)
Ecclesiastes 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
(and finally this very clay pot fashioned by God that holds our souls while here on earth itself dies)
Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
(and goes back to the dust, and our spirit or "our soul and spiritual body" return to God)
Ecclesiastes 12:8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
(and the only thing that matters in the end, the only things we take with us are our works for God and how we lived our lives)
Ecclesiastes 12:9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
Ecclesiastes 12:10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
Ecclesiastes 12:11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies,
which are given from one shepherd.
Ecclesiastes 12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:14
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
(and if that don't tell you that the "soul" that goes on to heaven doesn't take and have a complete memory of what they did here in this life, I don't know what would).
The flesh holds our soul while on earth, the celestial body is for the kingdom of God and all have one. At least that is what God says.
All will stand before God for judgment. And into the lake of fire will go the "body and soul". If we didn't all have that second body upon death, heaven would have those with bodies and those without and then at some point God would have to spend time putting all those "without souls" into bodies for judgment and since there is going to be preaching of the everlasting gospel and trips to the temple for sacrifice and worship during millennium, that would be just, weird)
Matthew 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
Matthew 10:27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul but rather fear him which is able to destroy
both soul and body in hell.

Judgement will be on "what you thought and what you did, who you are and all that takes memory. in fact our memory will be much better not having any afflictions associated with the flesh, like Alzheimer's.
It is only
the dead flesh that knows nothing.
Spirit is that what "animates" the body and when it leaves the flesh body it then animates the celestial one.
