I like this song by Avalon (I saw them in concert too :) ). I like a lot of songs and God's music is sooo good, I WILL take the feeling it gives me over SHERIFF (I need you now) ANY DAY OF THE WEEK ! :)

I put together this YouTube video using the song "Nearer My God To Thee"

Actually the version I use is an instrumental version, but the video itself is made up of Scripture verses and quotes regarding the "nearness" of God. I hope it can be an encouragement to those who feel distanced from God.

Amen. I put the ^ song in another post of a thread I recently did, the 'Titanic' movie, the scene with the string quartet that just kept playing 'Nearer To Thee' right up until the time that the ship began to tilt.

I can think of so many great gospel hymns that I sing to myself when I am just needing to really draw nigh to my God and He ALWAYS does draw me close when I go near and I feel His embrace and loving care for me :)

Amazing Grace
There Is Something About That Name

And, one, more modern song I will leave you with that I raise my hands to whenever I hear it.

I agree with Asifin, it depends on the situation.. BUT, I do have a song that I love so much and I believe everyone needs to hear its beautiful lyrics that describe so well God's love for us and how precious we are to Him.
