What to do when there's still no progress in the church :/

My church has not progressed since my family started attending. At first, we were there for a few days but then I met a pastor (he has his own church but likes to help ours, thankfully) who's an expert musician and taught me some things on guitar. My family and I ended up staying there so I can play in their worship band because before there was no guitarist, there's no bassist either, its the other pastor and his sons that come and play sometimes. /( -__- )\

We want to go to a new church but at the same time we feel like we should try to make a change. Oh and the number of people who come to church are so little, you can literally count them on your fingers. The pastor isn't that great of a pastor either, his son is really good at preaching but his talks are more for college students. My dad said since we're use to much larger churches we should suggest ideas. And we have, but the pastor never really goes through with them and his sons are always too busy. So I dont know what to do. Praise and worship is always the same but our worship band is really good.

I long for a church that is really involved and tight-knit. And I want be active in one too, but its so difficult when my church doesn't even have youth. The only youth in the church are me, the pastor's sons in the band and the little kids. o.o

Is it worth staying in?

I'm not sure how we can do that to be honest. I'd invite my friends but I kinda feel they'd get nothing out of it and wouldn't help since most of them are agnostics. Plus we have tried other things but the pastor is like yeah yeah yeah sounds good, then nothing happens...

Very seriously, a lot of people will give me flack for saying this, but you and your church have to be SOME kind of fit, or there's not a whole lot of use just warming the pew for forty minutes.

Pray, pray, pray. If you feel the need to stay committed to your current church God will show you ways to grow it. Whenever our church is in a rut it's always nice to talk with neighboring churches in similar situations to see how they've dealt with such issues. Hope it helps.

Probably not for us to say one way or the other. Like Willie said, you could brainstorm some ideas to help it grow, at least.

Ultimately, if you're not feeling it, you're not feeling it. Go where you feel convicted and fed, and where you believe you can bless others most.

Thank you, my family has talked to the pastor about that and he asked the whole church if they wanted that as well. The majority of them said no.

I'm glad you ask. Here's the problem with today society and church. They don't have Christ. What do I even mean? Not in the sense that you aren't believers, and that you aren't save. What I mean is, too many Pastors, church members, they all fall short when it comes to seeking God's face. The Bible talks about falling short in sin, but it gives us a commandment to always seek his face, and yet, we fall short in this also. Too many wants to give involved, which is great. The problem is, too many aren't anointed, don't love Christ the way they should, and doesn't draw near to the presence of the Holy One.

Why is this a problem within the church? In Matthew, Jesus gave us the great commission. Before He gave out the great commission, he said to the people, be with me. In Acts, before the church on Pentecost started, they waited for the promise of God. Just like today, you also need to find the presence and seek God's face. Your church has to be ordained, anointed in the presence of Christ for it to even start moving. Otherwise, it's just a dead church with attendance and no change.
