Hello everyone:

My name is Deonte Flowers and Im just trying to get some point of views of my situation with my GF. I am currently a freshman in colleg and shes still in college about 3-4,000 miles away. Our relationship befor I left was so unpleasing to God and I feel shameful about it. She not a true believer yet, but shes says she worlking on it. Should I hold on? I dont know if I want to start looking for a more Christian woman, or if God even wants me to have a girl. Im a flirty guy, and I honestly have been attracted to other Christian woman in particular. Im truly praying for God's will. Since I have been out here in college God has blessed me with a great group of belivers and I have been really getting stronger spiritually. I now realize how bad our relationship was when I was back home with her. I also hear so much about "not being unevenly yoked." But she says shes figuring out this Christianity thing. She says she blieves. What should I do.

If she wants to be a Christian, tell her to accept Jesus into her heart and start living a Christian life of love for others, reading of the word and prayer. If she has any questions let her seek advice from other Christians. Its as simple as that. And if you love her and want to be with her, then help her in the new Christian path.
God bless

I'm faced with a similar situation. My suggestion: tread softly. If she is not taking said convictions as seriously as you would like her to, perhaps you should let her know that it may not work out on account of being "unevenly yoked". If she's dilly dallying over it, lowering the boom may be the catalyst she needs to seek Him. You strike me as feeling somewhat detached from her, both physically (the distance) and spiritually.

Breaking it to her gently may very well be what you both need. And if it's not what He wants for your life, don't fight that little voice inside your head. Either she wants to have a relationship with both you and God, or she doesn't. Pray about it, and I will pray for you two also. :)

Suggestion, maybe you should quit bein so flirty. If I was your girlfriend I woulda dumped you by now for that alone.

Anyways, so she's working on this christianity thing, she believes and she's figuring it out?? So which one is it... How can she believe but not have it figured out.... I dunno kinda sounds like she's just sayin crap to get you off her back about it, or to appease you enough to quit talkin about it. The gospel is real simple, Jesus loves you he died for your sins so you you can spend eternity with him...wam bam thank you ma'am...what's there to figure out...

I'm not an expert on the bible, but I have been in relationships that just didn't work. The main reason some relationships don't work is because one person is trying to change the other. If you can only love a person if they change for you, then its not love. But its different if someone loves you enough to change for you because it is what they want, not what you need. If you need her to be a christian to date her and she is trying to change for you because thats what you need her to do, you should let her go. Or one day she may regret it and it will be a bad day for both of you. Almost 4,000 miles away? Thats hard. My girlfriend lives just 2 hours away and I only get to see her on weekends and its hard enough. If she lived 4,000 miles away I might get to see her once a month. I wouldn't be able to do that. More power to you. Take this advice with a grain of salt because ultimately you should decide what works best for you.

Well, i'm pretty certain God doesn't want you to 'have a girl' at this point. You sound immature, at least in this area. You are quite obviously not ready to be in a serious relationship. You're in a long distance relationship with a woman you've slept with, and still have trouble not flirting with other women. You need to be single, stay single and learn what it means to be in a serious relationship, because by your own wording, it sounds like you have no clue.

You yourself call your relationship with her "bad".

I think you know what you should do.

don't make her becoming Christian a requirement for you to stay together because then her faith will be based upon pleasing YOU and not Jesus and it will be fake.

Don't place a stumbling block in her faith by being fake and claiming the "unevenly yoked" as the reason why you want to break up with her. YOU made the decision to do whatever with her in your relationship, not just her.

Take responsibility for yourself and allow God to help you to become the person HE means for you to be

don't go jumping from one relationship just to start another with another girl but develop your relationship with GOD and learn to be a mature and complete person on your own and then maybe God will bring into your life another mature woman in Christ and it will work much better than two kids selfishly chasing after their own lusts and desires.

anyways that's my two cents.

Being single isn't bad; I don't know why your options are either staying with your gf or being with another girl. If you do want to have a Godly relationship and you want it to be "good", then maybe you should work on your relationship with God before being with someone else. Being with a Christian girl doesn't necesarily mean a good Godly relationship if you don't straighten out your ways first.

I don't feel like the ultimatum "become a Christian or I leave you" is appropriate, someone should definitely not be forced to believe in God.
It does sound like you should be single for awhile, if you "dont know if I want to start looking for a more Christian woman, or if God even wants me to have a girl. Im a flirty guy, and I honestly have been attracted to other Christian woman in particular. " You probably shouldn't have a girlfriend.

Agreed! :)

glory to God, if you will wait on the Lord he will lead you to a good christian women. You have plenty of time don't rush it. Right now is the best time of your life. If you love her give her time but don't married her expecting to lead her to the Lord later becase most likey it won't happen that way.
