I want to buy my mom a new tv as her old one broke. Here are the specs I am looking for:

32 inch
1080p
LCD or LCD/LED
Price Range: I would prefer the $400 range, nothing over $600.

I don't know what is a good brand to look for. I heard Sony and Samsung are good but I really want some advice before making such a large purchase. I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Hi Ash_JFF,

Sony used to be the TV leader until recently; they seem to have fallen by the wayside. It now appears that Samsung has taken over that position with superior quality control, better performance, and lower prices.

My review of the leading consumer product rating sources (both magazine and online as well) indicates that the Samsung 32-inch, 1080p is in a class all by itself
. You should easily be able to get a good buy at a price close to $400. Good luck.

Thank you so much! I ended getting a Samsung, though it it hasn't delivered yet, so I am really happy about your review!
