- “Our eyes still failed for our vain help; in our watching, we have watched for a nation that did not save. They hunted our steps, that we could not go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come. Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens; they chased us hotly upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.” (Lamentations 3.17-19).
Whence will our help come? In the difficult moments, our propensity is to quest for helping that can cost us dear. At the moment, this can assuage our pain. Notwithstanding, if we lay aside the principles of the Holy Scripture, certainly we will draw in bigger predicaments. Let’s be gritty lest we go off all solution that makes us avert to the right or to the left from what Jesus ordained us (Joshua 1.7).
Let’s look on only what Jesus spoke to us. Otherwise, our succor can turn itself into our lurker. And the more our aid is powerful, the faster it will be when it turns against us.
And don’t fancy that this won’t come about. Jesus doesn’t please in the succor (whether it is worldly wisdom (1Co 3.18-20), material goods (v 23.1-8), etc.) that doesn’t come from Him (Psalms 20.7; 147.10,11; Isaiah 30.1-3; 31.1-3). One of the motives is because their heart is not with you (Proverbs 23.7).
So, be still, acknowledge that Jesus is God (Psalms 46.10) and have a superb day in Christ Jesus.
