I get a lot of hope from the faith of Abraham.

I marvel at a father being able to trust in God enough to take his loved son, like Abraham did Isaac, his ONLY son wasn't he? , yeah, he and Sarah had a child at 90 age for her and 100 for Abe, and, now 10 years later, God is ASKING Abraham to just go kill his son on a mountainside.

What FAITH !!

There is a verse in the old testament that says "Be still and know that I am God". So I dont panic when things go wrong.
 
I find the word of God to be very encouraging and often times different parts speak to me on different days. But I do have say that the story of Joseph is always so encouraging and leaves me feeling hopeful.

Genesis 37

It's truly amazing to see how God had a plan even through the hardships that Joseph had to go through (being hated/sold by his brothers, being wrongfully accused and thrown into jail ect.). I love how Joseph forgives his brothers for what they had done to him.

This relates directly to our lives today. :) God loves His children and will not ever leave us. We should strive to get through our day to day struggles and praise God for them, for everything has its purpose.

The books of John, Hebrews and Romans for different reasons. John when I find my passion cooling down. Hebrews and Romans for strength, direction and encouragement.
