WHO ARE THE 144,000

In Revelation we are told about 144,000 people. This concerns a physical, living group of people. They will be of the bloodline of their respective Israelite tribes. We are given detailed explanation in Rev. chapter 14: "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb" (Revelation 14:1-4).

These are children or young adults, because they are virgins. It wouldn’t make sense to stop the seals unless God were saving flesh and blood humans. God could let them just die, like the rest of the saints; and let them become spirits upon Christ's return. These are younger people that God will allowed to start the millennial rule. They seem to have the Holy Spirit. That makes them exceptions of being changed into spirits at Christ's coming. They are to be planted into their tribes’ original lands for the start of the millennial rule. Remember, Ezekiel wrote after the ten northern tribes were long gone.

We see their inheritance being defined for a future time: "Now these are the names of the tribes. From the north end to the coast of the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Hamath, Hazarenan, the border of Damascus northward, to the coast of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for Dan. And by the border of Dan, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Asher. And by the border of Asher, from the east side even unto the west side, a portion for Naphtali. And by the border of Naphtali, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Manasseh. And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Ephraim. And by the border of Ephraim, from the east side even unto the west side, a portion for Reuben. And by the border of Reuben, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Judah. And by the border of Judah, from the east side unto the west side, shall be the offering which ye shall offer of five and twenty thousand reeds in breadth, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side unto the west side: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it" (Ezekiel 48:1-8). God then explains the land set aside for the priests (sons of Zadok) in verses 9-22.

Next, it lists the rest of the tribes’ inheritance: "As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side unto the west side, Benjamin shall have a portion. And by the border of Benjamin, from the east side unto the west side, Simeon shall have a portion. And by the border of Simeon, from the east side unto the west side, Issachar a portion. And by the border of Issachar, from the east side unto the west side, Zebulun a portion. And by the border of Zebulun, from the east side unto the west side, Gad a portion. And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of strife in Kadesh, and to the river toward the great sea. This is the land which ye shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these are their portions, saith the Lord God. And these are the goings out of the city on the north side, four thousand and five hundred measures" (Ezekiel 48:23-30). The time reference for this, is after the healing waters flow from God's temple in Jerusalem (see Ezekiel chapter 47). This, of course, is after the Day of the Lord and Jesus’ return. With all the detail, it must be very important to God for us to get this right.

There are Two instances in Revelation, showing the number of 144,000

Revelation 7 is of course, the Hebrews who will become awoken, and believers upon the True messiah, because of the martyred seal being open. Just as the time when Christ died on the Cross, the veil of the physical Hebrew temple ripped open from top to bottom. When the Bride is martyred, (5th seal of Rev 6) again another Veil will be ripped open, which is the Spiritual Veil God placed on the Hebrews who weren't accepted him as the Messiah. So in Revelation 7, after the Spiritual veil has been lifted from Spiritual eyes, 12 tribes x 12,000 will be sealed, to go through the 7 years of wrath.

The 144,000 found in Revelation 14, are actually ALL those who Followed the Lamb unto a martyred death. Regardless if it was the first 12 Disciples, or any of the last, that have gone through the great Tribulation, For All who follow the True Messiah, are More then Conquerors (IE White Horse Rider) but are also Sheep to the Slaughter. And All are Born again, Spiritual youth, who have washed all their sins in the Blood of the Lamb, come from the 7 churches, with washed spots, ironed wrinkles, And are ALL who are Dead in Christ, Martyred for the testimony they will stand for, are so ALL these are given special Risen Favour, to move on, to be with Christ. For their faith endured to the End, to be with their Lord. This Group, began with the 12 disciple foundation. 12 x 12,000 = 144,000 also. Because it is the form of God's body.

((ALL the Dead in Christ arose first, as seen, after the 5th seal opened, And given White Robes. ((Again regardless when the martyred moment happened over the last 2000 years.)) Then ALL other believers, who are Alive in Christ and remaining, (meaning passed on, but not a martyred death) are all the rest who are gathered, and found in Rev 7, given white robes too..

When the Spiritual veil is ripped open, which happens with the 5th seal being opened, then the 12 tribes, have awoken hearts and thoughts, and will be able to see and hear the spiritual understanding of the Kingdom of God. These will then pick up the cross, in which the martyrs laid down. And they will go out 2 x 2 because they will suddenly believe in the True Messiah, and become zealous in their Faith for him, instead of believing in the false messiah.

Both the 12 disciple branches AND the 12 Tribes lineage, make up the two 144,000 groups. And as Christ taught his earlier disciples, the movement through the 7 years of tribulation, and the 7 years of wrath, will go out 2 x 2 = the first group is sealed / protected going through the dark final years of the Tribulation found in the 3rd seal; Wine and Oil protected. Then the second group, are also sealed / protected, and will go out as the 2 witnesses everywhere; the final Good Seeds, speaking with the Spirit of Truth, sharing the Good News to help set more people free like Moses, and with the Spirit of Elijah, the mantle of prophecy and healings.

These two groups are also those, who will finally go on after the millennium, to be the (1) Bride in Revelation 21 ...

12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: + 14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

So Cool, the 12 apostles came from the 12 tribes, who are the (12) foundation for the Walls, and then the gates to enter in the walls, are the 12 tribes. = So Cool because 12 disciples came from the 12 tribe. Just as Christ said, the first will be the last, and the last will be the first. When you measure the Holy Mountain in revelation 21, the Holy City, the Pure adorned Bride, you would find it measures 12,000 stadia. This is because the 4 square Base foundation x the 3 gates of each Wall = 12 ... And 3 is the perfect number of our Lord alone, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. and the number 4, is the base of marriage. Each of us with our Lord ... And so the 12 disciples are Friends, the 12 tribes are BROTHERS and this is the Sons of God, the prodigal Sons, who have returned home, to be given the Ring of Marriage, and the White Robe of Righteousness. Who have come through the 1000 year Millennium, to make up the Holy City = 144,000 what ??

We are ALL Bridesmaids, making up the Body, the Bride, the New Jerusalem City, the Holy Mountain, adorned for her Husband. 144,000 are All the precious Stones, who are brilliantly cut with the double edged sword, the Word of Truth, and shinning with the Eternal Holy Fire of God's Spirit. = All these Stones have been built up upon our Corner Stone; Christ, built up for our King, who is the Highest of ALL = the Cap Stone, The God Head, Father/Son. ((( From the Head, Alpha, Cap Stone to the Corner Stone, Omega, Body, This is the plumb line, the ladder, the 180 degree straight line from Christ to the Father, the base to the head. = Jacobs ladder = John 1:51 And so what kind of Structure is this being built up, this beautiful Bride = this new Earth, new City and Holy Mountain ???

There are over 1 million of us Jews that are Messianic today... So out of all of us and all the Messianics like, Paul and Peter, the thousands that were martyred by Nero.... What criteria did G-d use, besides the #12, to pick us 144,000? If the 144000 are Jews what besides math .... Does Y-shua have anything to do with it? I love the idea it's us Jews... But explain the number 12 may be Jews but how did G-d pick othes Jew out of millions was it a craps shoot?...

mcubed, the twelve tribes are not Jews. Only Judah, Simeon a few Benjamites and Levites were in Judah. Jews are part of Israel but not all. God knows where the 10 Northern tribes are today. He will gather them from their respective tribes like it says.

They were redeemed from the earth, and not will be redeemed from the earth. They were the firstborn males from all twelve tribes of Israel .This took place at God's command to Moses in the Desert 12,00 from each tribe. Never had been introduced to a woman. clean, and spotless. not adults, but children. The 144,000 is the exact number of the firstborn killed in Egypt.

They were already gathered just before Jesus came. The ones you talk about are the ones who refused to return, their desendants. God said that he will strecth out his sword against those that did not return.

Guys, the 144,000 are a future group of Jews who come out of the twelve tribes of Israel (gives birth to) who will recognize Jesus as their Messiah. They will be sealed during the first 3 1/2 years of that seven year period. In the middle of the seven years they will be caught up to God's throne.

The reason is because I believe that the Male Child that the Woman/Israel gives birth to, is a collective name for the 144,000. If you will notice, in Rev.12:5, the Male child is "caught up" to God and His throne in the middle of the seven years. The woman/Israel flees out into the desert to that place prepared for her by God, where she remains during that last 3 1/2 years (1260 days). The word "Harpazo" translated "caught up" is the same word used in 1 Thes.4:16 when the church is "caught up" to meet the Lord in the air. I believe that the Male Child/144,000 will be caught up and changed in the same way in the middle of the seven years.

Most expositors identify Jesus as the Male Child, except that Jesus doesn't fit the criteria of the Male Child. The Male Child is caught up to God's throne before the Dragon/Satan can devour/kill it, whereas Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected. In Rev.14, the 144,000 is said to be "those who did not defile themselves with women," ergo, Male Child. The 144,000 coming out of Israel I believe is what her "giving birth" to the Male Child is referring to.

Yeah, thought it had something to do with who you identify as the man child, as it came up in a thread (I believe it's Jesus).
