Today on the news hour they said that, 'more people believe in something higherthan ever before, just not GOD?' Why is that? I have been a Christian for years, but was just recently baptized and came under attack by Satan immediately which is to be expected from what I'm told. BUT what really bothers me is this... as Christians we should be quick to forgive, quick to repent and quick to invite others to get to know Christ better, but instead I've found separation in the church, Mature Christian seeing Babes in Christ struggle and rather than surround and support them, say, "I'm sorry I just don't want to get involved", Say WHA??? YOU better get involved and be there for them or no wonder they are leaving GOD! The desire to want to believe in something higher stems from a desire that not all hope is lost. They are discouraged, feel let down and left out. I am speaking from experience. If i left everytime a Christian let me down I would have left the church a long time ago, but I unlike so many others know I am not there for them I am there for God. Not everyone gets this at first! I think we better start paying to our brothers and sisters in chrisis right now in these difficult times as Satan has made it clear he is here for a fight... are we really just gonna stand on the side lines and let him win? I had a family crisis with my teen a while ago, and my friend who is so much more grown in Christ said, "I'm sorry I don't wanna get involved", what happened to," I wanna pray with you and for you, be there for you anyway I can in prayer, encourage you?" I was disheartened and for a moment thought to hell with Christianity and all these perfect acting christians that are there as long as all is well for you... I don't need this... But I am strong in Christ and am not going anywhere with or without her! Do we realize NOT everyone is like me? That we will chase them away? Wake up people!!!... we are being lulled to sleep by the enemy... Stand for God or we'll fall and take down our brothers and sisters in Christ with us! Anyone have anything they wanna add or shed some light on when it comes to this issue I find very troubling! God Bless all of you who have the courage to reply!

It is a sad reality that many churches have become a clanging symbol, a noise no body wants to hear! It is very hard to find a church these days that bears the fruits of Love.

Many hearts have waxed cold! It is one of the signs given for the Last Days!

The Bible talks about a great falling away that takes place and it talks about false doctrines, and the tickleing of the ears!

The body of Christ has become more of a country club, a social status symbol!

You pay your dues, jump through the right hoops, look the right way, say the right words, put on a good show, and you can belong! (Read James)

There are almost as many churches on every corner as there are Starbucks, the sad thing is that if just one of them was really doing what God said, it would change thier city!

Most of the churches today bring you into bondage, they preach Grace and Law at the same time.

What they fail to understand is that the two can not work together!

Law cancels out grace and grace cancels out Law!

Galatians, Romans, and Hebrews are very good books to study on about this!

I see a change happening, I see how God is starting to remove the veil off peoples eyes!

Abraham had two children,

One, born from the slave woman, mans attempt to bring about Gods will, one of bondage, ( the old Law)

The other from the freewoman, The one through the promise of God comes! (Gal.4:21-31)

I know at some point the bible talks about removing the veil and making the two into one church!

We must come into unity of our faith, and we must seek the Lord to find out what it is! He is the author and finnisher of our faith!

We can not borrow someone elses oil for our lamps.

You must know Him!

Do not be discouraged, the troubeling in your spirit is a call to pray, let what God is wanting to birth out of you be birthed!

Your troubleing is good, Pray!

father I ask that You open the eyes of this mans understanding and give him revelation of Your word!

Its very true I was hurt by my own church that I supported and was a member at. And I ended up falling away, and no one looked for me or came to my home or even bothered. I left that church and never went back. I realize that the enemy wants you to be mad and stay away from GOD. I attend church now. And I make it a point to communicate with my pastors regularly. I told them that we need to be there for each other during the bad and the good times. I went thru some difficult times a few months ago to the point of loss and suicidal thoughts, and hopelessness. I cried out to GOD several times and went to my church and prayed in the sancuary sometimes daily. My pastors were there and now I am there for them and others in my church. I never want anyone to feel what I went through. Sometimes you just have GOD and having someone that cares helps. I live in a state with no family, im not close to them either. And I have just GOD and those that are my true christian brothers and sisters. We need to get involved not give our opinions or two cents, but our love, prayers, encouragement, so that that pain, burden, heartbreak, grief, worry could be lifted and GODS Grace can move. If we aren't looking through GODS eyes, or feeling with his heart, then we shouldn't call ourselves christians.

You have really touched me this morning. I need to repent for not going after the people who fall away. Thank you for opening my eyes this morning. I thank God for letting you share your experience.

new commers to Christ, newly baptized, and us as Christians turning away instead of chasing after those dicouaged by a flaw of another Christians mistake they can't see is hurting the newby... we know we are to forgive and bring them back to God, but rather we turn away at times and they leave the church, God and call us hypocrites... thats what I'm referring to... re-reread what I wrote and I pray God will give you a better understanding of what I am trying to say.

Italian,

Maybe the ones who are claiming to be "mature Christians", really aren't so mature after all? Maybe we are all babies, and will always be babies, until the day of Christ Jesus "Phillipians One".

You are right that it is discouraging, but that is why we are to look to Christ as the example. He is the only one worth looking at. All the rest fall short, and always will.

God Bless you !

amen missy... my husband always says we are just a buncha kids... whether we are 20 or 70 we are a buncha kids and some of us are bad kids. I understand in part what you mean about the Church and am thankful that you are so strongly rooted in Christ. My husband has long hair... he chooses to keep it because it "weeds out the jerks". his words not mine. unfortunately in our search for a church family most of the jerks were in the churches... many a time we were asked... can i helllp you?? in that voice. this is arriving a little late for sunday service... good grief. we just said no, we usually sit upstairs we know where we are going. i'm sure no one else got that... they probably got the welcome would you like a program. Hey thats my vent though... people fail... but just when all hope is lost, the pastor of that church (church was packed) greeted shawn as we were leaving... he said " i saw you up there so handsome like a movie star... welcome to our church". How wonderful was that! it just takes one. That became our church (baptist). individually we need to know wherever we go that yes we do make a difference and let our light shine among men... even long haired (or tatooed or pierced) men. If you see someone who looks so sad it makes you wonder... just ask em are you ok? really are you ok? and can i pray... wow what a difference those words can make... even if they say no thank you, it effects them that someone noticed and cared. Its not for everyone i'm sure, you must be bold but i tell you what there is no better feeling than having prayed with a complete stranger.

You are so right in the church world to day we see more and more fellow christians falling away; but the Bible did say that woud happen. But we are to stand in the gap for the baby's in Christ and help them to reach maturety. Yes there are babys in Christ those are the ones that Just came to the truth and are just starting their walk with God. The older saints should pray and help them during tribulations but the saints can not bare the burron alone the person in trouble should do their part as well. In my Church when I was not able to be there due to a situation that was out of my control the pastor and other came to my place to incurage me until I could attend service regularly. The bible says to pray ye one for anothe; I think it is high time that us christians get back to te basics and Do as Jesus comanded us to do.

Sadly this is all to common. Many that I share the lord with have this complaint. We have to remember though that our faith is in the lord Jesus christ, not other people. We are all sinners and will fail even when we are not aware. This is why at this time we have not a regular church. Although the true church is all who love and seek the lord. This situation is heavy on my heart, I have one who I hope through example that Jesus will call back. This friend has rejected all religion and has embraced a belief that acepts all including Jesus as mearly profits and supports reincarnation, earth gods all under one God. This person turned to this after being severly and crually judged. Please pray for this one as I do believe that they have a true heart for the Lord, just very confused right now. We all need to remember always that we are ambasidors for Jesus and to always remain in his grace. Through his grace all will be glorified in him. May we all be blessed with the eyes to see, the ears to hear and his heart to love in his constant grace. God bless, pickles

I am newly saved and feeling this as well. Having no one who is Christian in my life to go to church with or be guided by really it is difficult to struggle forward. I tried a Calvary Church last Sunday and it was nice with a good message, but more like watching tv by myself.

Hi im new came on my own trying to find my church and fellowship "Oh hello, theres donuts over there"
I am really really praying to find help and support from some christians coming into my life. Having only secular friends I cant really look to them for difficulties in spirit.

I am really really praying to find help and support from some christians coming into my life. Having only secular friends I cant really look to them for difficulties in spirit.
I do not really have anyone to look to for help, but the Lord. He has been faithful, even when I wasn't, for truly He is the Good Shepherd as well as the Saviour. He constantly reminds me on various times that I am never alone for He is with me always. He helps me to be His friend as He is my Friend.

Due to difficult situations I cannot take this suggestion because of the power that my enemies has over my life but if the Lord grants you success, so be it... as it is... if you can imagine being persecuted in a country where christians are hated, would you be motivated to have a Bible study and fellowship in your house or apartment?

Would you put out feelers to invite any that are hurting and not finding the help they need in church or to offer any that are struggling with a Bible question that the group can by His grace and His guidance .. provide the answer to the group eventually if no one knew it right off? Kind of like taking the journey and walk with the Lord together?

It is a secular advise that I heard, (if it is Biblical, I cannot recall that verse ) but one can help themselves by helping others, and by helping others.. you may find the answer for the help you need.

If, however, you find yourself not able to arrange such an outlet, remember that the Lord is with you always and is a refuge for any time of need. Trust Him to provide the answers you seek as I can testify that He has provided answers before the crisis arrived at several tims in my life... to what I am aware of. We do not always know His hand in our lives but I know He is with me always.. and for that I give thanks in my being.
