The lawsuits are necessary and nice, but the most noteworthy effect IMO of the Snowden revelations is the fact that all civilians will be more careful to use encryption and related technologies.

Hopefully the next time a radical on the order of Martin Luther King comes along, weaponized surveillance technology will not be used to quell progress and the story will not end so tragically.
 
the damage of snowden is going to cause, many lives being at stake, in so many different parts of the world.
people that want to help others, like missionaries, health care worker, aid workers, could now be classed as a spy.
the problems of counting the cost, to how this affects everyone, is huge.


many court cases,there goal is money, yet looking deeper, would revel deeper problems.
