Woman ordained as a Catholic priest...or is that pristess?

I am not catholic either. I see it as being sad because it signals how liberal Christians are getting. Some denominations have ordained non-celibate lesbians and gay men. Seems like anything goes now days.

This women did it in total defiance of the Catholic Church. She should be immediately defrocked.
 
Eh. I don't see Catholics as Christians, so again, doesn't phase me.
 
Who cares what the catholic does? They have far worse people than women as priests.

That is true. They have priests who have rape small boys who should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law...but they just get moved around to new hunting grounds.
 
It does not matter whether this woman is Catholic or not, Gods word clearly states that women are not to hold that position. A woman is not allowed to be head over a man. A woman is allowed to teach, but is not allowed to be a priest, preacher, pastor, minister.

Churches that allow women in this position, or gay and lesbians in that position are not a true Bible believing church. They are more interested in pleasing man and themselves rather than pleasing God.

I agree that it is very sad. It just goes to show what direction our churches are dragging people in. Anyone new in the faith and doesn't understand or know, is going to believe these things are right with God and ok, and they are not. The people that go to these churches are being fed lies. And what is really sad, the preachers/priests, are going to be held accountable for every person in their congregation and every soul that they misled.

It is very much something to be sad about, and I believe we need to start praying for our churches to stop trying to please people and start worrying about pleasing God. Think about how many souls are going to be misled, thinking they are saved because of the false doctrine they are being fed. How many are still going to be sitting in the pews after Christ has already come back?

Christians need to start standing up and put a stop to these things happening instead of being passive and having a "Who cares" attitude. This is exactly why this nation is in the trouble it is in.

This is NOT just going on within the Catholic churches, it is all over and throughout many denominations.

We need to pray for our church leaders to get back to preaching Gods truth and following His laws and commandments. As I said many times in other threads, now days it is getting very difficult to tell a Christian from a non-Christian. We are to be set apart, different from the world. The world should be able to look at a Christian and tell they are not of this world. Our churches are the biggest offenders of this. They don't want to hurt anyone's feelings and wants to make everyone feel warm and good, instead of preaching the truth, and guiding those that are in sin away from it, not leading a whole church into sin.

We need help! And it is something that should concern every single Christian.

Just sharing what I felt God pressing on my heart to share as well as what God has taught me over the years.

Well said, MrsAsghar. I have to admit that I have a "who cares?" attitude about churches going down the non-biblical path. But you have encouraged me to pray for these churches. I already stand up for the Bible, but I don't pray much for them, so thanks for challenging me.

Regarding this priestess, I hope she will see the errors of her ways and turn in true repentance to God and His Word.

Thank you for your kind words and I am glad the post encouraged you and challenged you, but I cannot take the credit, as I said I was only sharing what I felt God press upon my heart and what I have learned over the years.

Some may feel that I was a little harsh in how I said things, but what was said needed to be said and I tend to get very passionate when it comes to certain things, and this was one of them.

It also challenges me as well. None of us are perfect and we all slip up now and then. Some times I think I care too much and it gets me into trouble...lol :)

But I too need to pray more for the churches and leaders. I get discouraged after a while when I see things such as this, continuing on. And sometimes it is difficult to keep praying when we see things still going drastically in the wrong direction. So I too am encouraged not only by this thread, but also by your post, to pray harder for the churches and people and for our nation.

You are welcome. And thanks for starting the thread, when I saw this on the news the other day and saw this forum I was going to start a thread about it and then didn't. So when God led me back to here today and I saw someone started a thread about it, I knew I couldn't just sit here and not say what I knew God wanted me to say.

So thank you for starting it for me :) God apparently had something important that He wanted to say and used us as a tool to do it. God bless and have a great day.
 
But the Roman Catholic Church did not ordain this woman. Some off-shoot pseudo-Catholic group did. Off-shoot pseudo-Catholic groups have been doing this a long time. No surprise.
 
The people ordaining this woman are not Roman Catholic bishops. They are other women from some break off group. The ceremony holds no validity in the RCC. I'm surprised that people are actually surprised at this. It means nothing to the RCC. It is no more valid to the RCC than a woman ordained by the Episcopal Church or a Baptist Church.
 
I say more power to this Woman, There should be more Women Preachers/Priests in the world.
Now let me explain that Paul wasn't against Women Preaching but rather Ephesian Women because they were not educated enough to preach. But he wasn't talking about Women that WERE educated. They should be allowed to Preach as much as possible.
And by the way, Catholics ARE Christians since they accept Jesus as the Son of God and they believe in the Trinity.
Just thought I would clear that up.

You do realise that the protestant denominations represents the 'Liberalisation' of the Roman Catholic Church right??

I know you have been programmed to think 'Liberty' is bad, but Liberalism has been happening for centuries.

You might also remember a progressive liberal movement called the founding of the United States of America?

We need to pray for our churches and our church leaders regardless of denomination, Catholic and Protestant alike.

I didn't think Catholics were counted as Christians. No matter what, I think them making a woman a priest would be the least of their problems. I also hardly think some church neither you or I have anything to do with making some woman a priest hardly constitutes a sign that Christianity is becoming liberal. Why don't you check back over the last 2,000 years of Christianity? I mean, it's been so freaking pure up until now! ;)
