The other night, while spending some time with the family, a very strange conversation came up, and I was the strange of the conversation.

Everyone else had one idea, but I had another. It began with a statement by my brother, ''You see, he thinks everything should be free.''

And yes, I think everything should be free. But another was trying to get me to go into business with her, and I told her about my business concept.

I told her that my idea of business, would put EVERYONE out of business. And they were interested to hear it.

My idea of business is to make the thing, and give it away for free, AT NO CHARGE!! AT ALL!!

Now, many people say this but there is always some scheme behind it. And all of a sudden I got strange faces. HUH?? And I was laughed at a little, nothing serious of course.

I tried to explain, but no takers. Here is the case, if one group offers a service or product for a price, say, 100$ and I offer mine for FREE, which is one more likely to buy? The free one?
Not so fast. But also, the quality of mine is also the same as the group charging 100? maybe better?

THE FREE ONE!! DUH!

But then they ask the question, ''but who is really going to offer something without any profit.'' And they couldn't see how it would work. Yes, it sounds like foolishness, but it can work.

But this reminds me of a comment a lady at my job made all of a sudden to me, when she wanted me to work in her area, ''I know you don't work for the money like they do.''

HOW DID SHE KNOW THAT!! Yes I work, and I do get paid, but I don't work for the pay as others do. I have been cut my hours down to 0 and the Lord provided. And then he restored that and more!!!!

No, nothing of this world has a hold on me, except Jesus Christ. And I SURELY would work for no pay for him!! ANY DAY!!

May Jesus bless you.

you don't work or do things for the money or even the people you do it for Jesus and the glory of His name.

lol you would like some of the programs and events they have around here. there is a community newsletter that is into exchange of services and things instead of money. like someone is a handy man and needs help with something else so they exchange help with another person who needs it. then there are free swap meets where you bring things you no longer need but is still in good condition and others bring things and you just take home whatever you need and they take what they need.

It builds a sense of community and I've found that some of the best things in life are free: love, salvation through Christ Jesus, the sunrise, etc.

Ananda, this idea is so strict that it does not even involve trade, or exchanges of goods.

Uncle N.has gone now, a street evangelist all his life.

I can still hear him say:

"Where He leads, He feeds; where He guides, He provides".

Sorry, you reminded me.

Back to your idea: There were some shops down here last year. You could go and get anything you want. Manufacturers and food business etc would drop off stuff: overstock, replaced "lines", near expiry etc.

In business we call this gaining market share through price point strategies. Give people a free phone and then charge them $39.99 a month to use it... lol.

There's a little farm in the hills outside Auckland City (pop 1.3 m) that's been going 12 years plus. They grow stuff, receive stuff from food businesses etc Volunteers are there all the time, they've got something like a little warehouse and a forklift and everything, and people are coming through all the time "picking up a carton".

Interesting concept.... I am more or less unemployed at present, and it hasn't been a very thrilling experience to tell the truth. I recall somewhere in the Bible where Paul wrote that "...those who do not work shall not eat." I also recall somewhere in the New Testament where the new Christians pooled all their resources and shared commonly. Sounds socialist, and history has taught us that doesn't work, but then we are living in a fallen world where the majority of the people could care less about the Lord, so that no matter what system of government we have, the most industrious, greedy, and manipulative people will always end up with the majority of the world's resources, and use them to exploit the rest of us. In an ideal world, all the people would be Christians who share and share alike, and no one would be without, as Love (our Lord) would be the central, governiong Force.

YES! God would have to be the leader of this business, as he is the only one who could not be bribed. No one could tempt him. And he would disperse fairly.

Perhaps I could tell you more about this idea in PM, as it keeps coming up.

May Jesus bless you.

This tread is still on my mind

(because I may do this very thing next year.)

Today I was thinking - - - if I work, will I NOT be paid? Yes, I will be paid. Everyone surely has something: It may be food, or a book, or clothing; orfurniture, or tools, or something they've finished with. And if they have something, they will give it, I'm sure they will.

What is actually harder is to find someone to work for.

OH MAY JESUS BLESS YOU!! THIS REMINDS ME!!!

Today, there was a man holding up a sign, that said he needed money because his utilities would be cut off. No way would the Lord let me pass him by. I gave 20$, but is that good? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

20$ was not all I had, so it didn't take anything to give it. Even though it was 20$ it was more like 2 cent.

I know one thing if I know nothing else, Jesus us the best boss. I do feel so trapped, because I am keeping my job for two reason, to pay off my debts, and help my parents. But I would that everyone could see the way life should be lived as Jesus showed me. But not many come. They are in want. No one has the Lord as their shepherd!!

I became low my friend. My job stop giving me hours, and even one week they gave me no hours, and I had rent to due. But the Lord is awesome!! During this time I learned faith. Now, just like Abraham, I tired to do a fix it fast, but it was denied!!! So then it was left to God, until I came to the conclusion, ''If I die, receive my Spirit, else, provide a way Lord!!

Oh but then that Devil Serpent came RIGHT WHEN THE ANSWER WAS ABOUT TO COME!! And I said out loud (while my friend was right there), SHUT UP YOU LIAR!! (My friend thought I was talking to him I think, as I did look his way.)

BOOM! The answer came!! AMEN!!

I don't want ANYTHING this life has to offer. And more than ever lately, he has shown me the worst bondage in the world for especially America. THE PRIDE OF LIFE, THE LUST OF THE FLESH, THE LUST OF THE EYES!!

I was free when Jesus freed me, and nothing had a hold on me, but Jesus, but then this trap system still has part of me. I am waiting for Jesus to tell me where to go, and even if I owe money, I will go where he says, as I know he will fix that all.

I am in a mood to talk about the goodness of the Lord, so I could go on forever.

May Jesus bless you.

You say: "I am in a mood to talk about the goodness of the Lord, so I could go on forever."

:) What a great mood to be in!

I have just finished paying off my debts this week. (It was to purchase a large productive item.) So I know about that one. It's like Prov. says "The borrower is slave to the lender."

But ' sorry to hear you have to help your parents. That's hard. In my culture children look to their parents for help. You have brothers/sisters don't you. (I hope they help and you are not supporting the burden alone.)

I am sure there is a way forward in working -- getting work, finding work, preparing one's self, aquiring tools or getting requirements together, networking, talking with people about it and the ones that matter -- without the least regard to the gain from work, as you first posted.
And it's good to think of ourselves as (the role or function we have) whether we are active in it now or later.

God's blessing on you.
