Hi guys I wanted to get some advice on what I should do. For those of you who don't know me I'm in a wheelchair. I got into a car crash years ago and I need lots of help taking care of myself. However I want to move out of my grandma's house. Most of my reasons for not having left yet was because of my family. Mostly of what my family would say or do when they realize they can't keep tabs on me. Of course thats not my only reason for wanting to move back to my hometown. The other reason have to do with independence, privacy, wanting a life, and to start fresh. Okay now I bet your wondering why I didn't do this years ago when I became 18? Well I've always had the idea of it in my head just never had the guts to do it. I've also wondered what would happen to my grandma and cousins. See its my grandma and two cousins living here and I just hope they can find a place to stay because if I move everyone needs to too. The rent and bills are to much if I leave. Secondly I'm faced with the option of living in a nursing home for awhile until I can get money to get my own apartment. The gov't has a grant that help people in nursing homes get back into the community. Even though I'm scared and kind of embarrassed to live in a nursing at the age 20 I want to move more! My question for you guys(and girls) is what should I do? Am I being selfish? How long show I put others first while I feel so unwanted and mistreated at times? Show I sacrifice my own happiness? All your advice can help.....thank you!
