1. Don't really remember for sure....
2. Album? One of Creedence Clearwater Revival's... I think I still have it, along with a couple of others of theirs.
3. Book? I always had books given to me, or borrowed... first one I remember buying was "We Were There With Lincoln in the White House" I bought in Springfield, Ill, on a trip with my dad.
4. movie? too many, don't remember
5. movie I paid to see? don't remember
6. Knick knack? I think I bought an arrowhead at a rock shop in the mountains of Colorado, probably around age 8 or so
7. Collection? Probably a coin.... my brother and I both collected coins for a while
8. Meal? More than likely a burger and fries with my brother and friends after church
9. Car? First car I bought was a hand-me-down 68 Camaro my brother had driven for a couple of years, that he bought used from a friend from church.
10. First house I bought was about 1200 sq ft, paid just over $6000 for it, in or around 1974.

A demonstration record with four songs on one 45. All the songs were soft rock, but the one I remember is Going to Carolina in my Mind by James Taylor. (I think Simon and Garfunkel had a song too.)

I was a library girl, so the first books I bought were textbooks for college.

Armadillo. It was the animal I most related to, but, alas. Only ever bought two. Ended up collecting cats, (both real and figurines) and butterflies, (none real.)

This new, unknown stand came to town. It was called McDonald's. It was a hot, humid summer day and no air conditioning in our kitchen, so Mom didn't feel like cooking, but was going to anyway. 35 cents for a burger (only basic burger back then) and fries. My brother and I rode our bikes over and went halfsies -- enough for four. And it was a stand back then. No tables. Looked like a bank with two windows, except the walls were tiles in red and white stripes, and that funky yellow M sign out front. (It didn't even tell how many they served yet, but the paper said 600,000. Holy Cow!)

9. First car.
1967 green Mustang in 1974. Went from 0 to 60 in 60 minutes.

10. First home.
Not counting houses I shared in college, because they weren't just mine. A one-bedroom apartment in a triplex, but the house was a Victorian mansion. My ceilings were 10 feet high, the windows were 8 feet tall, (and the glass didn't fit, so they had 2 inch to 4 inch gaps in the corner lol), and the other room, beside the bed room was big enough for a kitchenette, a full dining room with six chairs, a living room, and there was a half turret on the side big enough for my desk. All that for $75 a month. Heat and electricity included.

Oddly enough, Tea for the Tillerman was one of my last Cat albums I bought. Every time I had splurge-money, he'd have a new album out, so I bought new, before I got to old.

My older brothers bought Bits and Pieces, but I'm just young enough that Fabian was "out." (One of my old friends is his cousin though. Admittedly, by the time I met him -- friend, not Fabian -- when he told me that, I had to ask, "Who's he?" )

#4 it was a VHS the movie was Re- Animator . Started as a rental became a purchase when I forgot to return it . Ha ha

#8 this one is related to the bonus question. I bought my parents a meal at a McDonald's. I just cashed my check and wanted to for once pay for something with my money. I can't remember what we got only that mom and dad were smiling.
#9 was a Toyota pickup. Brand new off the lot . My first car was a gift from my parents.

As for first home? I meant the first place you could call your own. The bank still owns our home too. (5 more years, and then they don't!)

Nope.

Usually, I have a much better memory, but so many of these firsts were things I did on my own and didn't have anyone with me so they weren't noteworthy and didn't really stick in my memory.
