I'm just using Giphy for my signature Gif, but is there a way to post gifs? I tried Imgur links (For putting a gif in my signature) and whatnot, and that didn't seem to work. The only reason I know of Imgur is from past experience of being on MAL's forums.

Is there something similar to Imgur that would work on this website? Or no?

The Giphy icon above the message box allows you to choose from a proffered selection according to your entered search criteria, but to display your own images, or any other you might find elsewhere on the web to post here, you can:

1) save any image to your hard drive (do not change the file name of any found gifs or they will not be "active") and then use the Insert image (Ctrl+P) icon that looks like a sun rising over mountains. It is directly to the left of he emojis' Smilies icon above every message box. If you have the image on your clipboard by copying from another source, you may even just directly paste it into the message box.

Otherwise, when you click in the area of the app that opens where it says (Or click here), you are then allowed to choose an appropriately sized fie (jpg, gif, or png only) from any folder on your device.

However, this only works on the public forum boards, as PM images require a url to display/post.

Imgur files work if tagged properly :)

******************************************************************

I post quite a few images and very much prefer using urls.

2) To get a url, upload your image file to an image host. The one I use most often is here <- click!

If your file is not sized to below 1M, which it may need to be in order to be viewed on CC, you can size it to 640 pixels wide during the upload, from the drop down where it says, Do not resize my image. You should find that 640 pixels is quite sufficient for most images :) An image larger than 1MB otherwise may show as an X in a box on phones :(

When the upload completes, a list of links will appear The second line is the Direct link. Copy it
and paste it between image tags, like so: [ img]image url here[ /img] but without the spaces ;)

*****************************************************

I completed this panel early early morning, July 19:

I size mine before uploading to just under 1M :D ^ ^ That one is 715 x 477 (999.2K), as are most of mine.

You can also copy an image by right clicking on an image on the Internet, click on "Copy Image" in the drop down menu that appears, then come back here, right click to "Paste" the image into the text area of the message that you're composing. If you are copying it this way from an editing program on your computer, you may have to have the image highlighted to effectively copy it.

This will not work for PMs, which always require a url.

I hope that was not too much info :D If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask :)

You can also use CC as your image host through your Media files' urls :D

Not being sure if you've managed to post any gifs successfully since your inquiry but it did remind me that I needed to 'refresh' this skill myself.

When I find a gif I want to share here, I right click it and select "copy image address" and then return here and select "insert image' and then hover over the 'link' (by URL) icon and paste the copied address there before clicking 'insert'...

(hmm... I wonder if the link icon would work just the same)

I user Pinterest.com for many of mine and they have an area where you can save folders of favorites. I might add, if you copy a gif directly from some of these sites they might not activate. The fix is to first copy it to a new window or tab and then copy it from there.
