John 8:36 plus Romans 8:2 If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death.

Hi

And the Lord shall deliver you from every evil work and will preserve you unto His heavenly kingdom, to Him be glory for ever and ever, Amen. I don't know what are the circumstances for your wife and you getting a divorce. God has said what God has joined together let not man put asunder (Matt 19:6, Mark 10:9). It not the will of God for divorce when He has joined a husband and wife together. People get divorce because of the hardness of their hearts (Mark 10:5, Matt 19:8). Their is only one reason God allows a husband and wife to divorce and it is because of fornication (Matt 10:9, Matt 5:32). I pray that God does His will in your marriage. That your wife and you are reconciled. That you will not get divorced but that He will make you a Godly man, a Godly husband and you wife a Godly woman, a Godly wife, a woman that fears that Lord, a virtuous wife. 1 John 5:14-15 says that when we pray God's will He hears us and if He hears us He has answered us. I pray that the Lord sets you completely and totally free from drinking alcohol and strengthens you in Him. That you are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might in the name of Jesus.

If it helps, here are three really good podcasts on the tough and challenging subject of divorce, the first two are a walk through both the old and new testaments, the third addresses Jesus discussion (from the sermon on the mount); I have found them to be so very helpful;

It's a broken world, with broken people, ideals are not intact, yet through it all, a taste of what things should be like, even in the face of brokeness, comes through our lord and saviour. Maybe these will help you.
