You know, I spent 20 years of my life trapped in lifeless "religion". When I realized the absolute freedom in Christ He had offered all along, I fell to my face....there is nothing....ABSOlUTELY NOTHING that could lead me back down that road. It is a yoke of bondage I wish NEVER to return. I am Tired of being controlled by mans doctrines that are burdensome and tiring and always seem to serve a greater "cause", but that cause is not furthering the Kingdom of Christ, but the kingdom of man disguised as God.

Let's never forget that the martyrs didn't put the church between quotes (as in a mockery) and they actually died for the sake of Christ and His Church.

Unfortunately, the modern people have no idea what the church means, why did the christians believed that the church (communion with the living God) was the end of religions (seeking God).

Also, the church never saw the sacraments as "work based theology". They believed they really united with Christ through baptism and really partaking with Christ in the Eucharist. And this belief can also be seen in the names they had: "theophor" means "bearer of God". The martyr Saint Ignacius of Antioch was also called Ignacius the Teophor.

You are wise in your freedom

There was a day when there were a few on the road gatherings around .... but today they are gone

What remains is a dead "church" of many colors

Stay where you are ..... you have the Lord's Word and He will lead you into all truth

In my opinion the falling away is not backsliding Christians, the falling away is a falling away from the true source of life IN CHRIST ALONE. The falling away will be manifested in works based religions in which their core SYSTEMS rely upon. The martyrs were killed for their proclamation of Grace and freedom....why? Because The good news of Christ would have put a serious hurt on the systems relying on people's works. It's very simple. The "church" depends on brainwashed individuals to support its work based theology.
when I think of the phrase falling away, I remember Paul used it, in 2 Thess 2. But the subject is Satan arriving as false Christ, before, we gather to the True Christ. Paul said this would cause Christians to "fall away " . Look up the word in Greek, the meaning for the word is Apostasy; who preferred traditions of men, over the simplicity of hearing God's words on the matter. If as Christ's followers, we cant hear our Saviors words, then, its a pretty bad thing to go against that. Just look at the 7 churches in Rev.

This is the same thing Christ taught. have a good day, keep reading the word.

Thank you, when you taste of true freedom, it cannot be squelched. They can kill this flesh, but they can never take His life from me.

the "church" will claim that the "freedom in Christ fighters" are apostates (aka the falling away) because true believers are slowly abandoning traditions. When the true believers start leaving the "church", they will be labeled "fallen"......evil will appear good and good will appear evil. Mark my word...it's coming.

Does "freedom in Christ" mean a person is free to do as he pleases....lie, steal, murder, etc and still be saved?

This is what I believe the falling away is before the coming of the man of sin,the beast.

The Bible says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines taught by devils.

These people did not depart from the Bible but departed from the truth of it,which I believe is they interpret the Bible that exalts people and is based on nature worship.

This will go on for some time which then this scripture applies that says, for the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, the truth, but according to their on lusts will they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, and will turn their ears from the truth and be turned unto fables.

The devil will use a false interpretation of the Bible to deceive the world,an interpretation that all religions will accept, which will prepare the way for the man of sin.

During the 7 years tribulation the first three and one half years they will operate by a one world government and a one world religious system.

The one world religious system will be all religions united and people can practice any religion they want but they cannot try to convert someone to their religion or they will be guilty of a hate crime punishable in the international court system.

They can practice any religion they want for all religions are valid as truth and everybody has their own path that leads to the same spiritual destination.

People can practice their own religion but the main theme of the one world religious system will be that false interpretation of the Bible which all religions will accept for Jesus is not the savior but a good teacher as well as other teachers.

Whoever is the spiritual leader of the one world religious system will be someone that believes the Bible but believes that false interpretation of the Bible and will impact all religions with that interpretation therefore impacting all nations.

The religious leader will prepare them for the coming of the man of sin who will be a man claiming to be God by tapping in to nature, who will not believe in a personal God but will honor the God of forces,or energy of the universe, which he believes is at his disposal to use,who will be in to witchcraft and a nature worshipper.

That false interpretation of the Bible based on the exaltation of man and nature worship that will impact the world during the one world religious system will cause people to stop believing in fundamental Christianity but they will believe it according to that false interpretation that exalts people, which that goes with the scripture the time will come they will not endure the truth but will want to hear the Bible according to their own lusts, which that false interpretation will give them as it exalts people.

These people will want to hear it according to their own lusts which means they want personal power and to exalt themself. This will go on for the three and one half years of the one world religious system.

The Bible says that the saints will not be united with Christ until there is a falling away first and the man of sin steps in to the Jews temple, which they will rebuild shortly, claiming to be God,and that is because as long as the world can repent of their sins the saints will not be united with Christ.

When the world takes the mark then they cannot repent of their sins anymore and the saints can be united with Christ.

So I believe the falling away is when during the one world religious system, the main theme of it will be that false interpretation of the Bible that will impact all religions and all nations until nobody wants to hear the truth of the Bible but want to hear that false interpretation, which takes away the hope of the world.

Since they do not want to accept the truth of the Bible but want to only hear that false interpretation that covers the world,it will prepare the way for the man of sin to be able to deceive them when he appears claiming to be God.

The devil will use that false interpretation of the Bible to deceive the world and to take away the hope of the world,an interpretation that fits the man of sin's agenda, which is to establish a world that does not believe in a personal God.

So to make it short, there has to be false interpretation of the Bible to deceive the world,to where they will only accept that interpretation,an interpretation that fits the man of sin's agenda, which will be based on the exaltation of people and being able to get power through nature.

Freedom in Christ means "my flesh shall rest in hope" HIS hope and that alone. There is none righteous....not one. I am no longer a servant of mans theology, mans systems, mans offering plates, mans "to do" lists, mans ANYTHING, I am set free from the bondage that all those things bring, I am finally free to serve him because my heart is in love with my savior. I never understood a cheerful giver until I met the giver of my life. God used Rahab,a whore, David, an adulterer and Paul a murderer (those that have great sin understand great forgiveness) to help us understand the depths of our sin and the depths of His great love and forgiveness. He is an amazing God that wants our hearts so he may use our lives.

But does "freedom in Christ" mean one can do anything he pleases?

If I am not free to choose good or to choose bad, I am not truly free, freedom becomes contingent. Christs love for me is not contingent on my behavior, but when you are truly in Christ he creates a new heart that desires Him and His ways. If your heart does not change like David's did, you must seriously examine your faith in the first place.

So this is how the rest of the world spends the time on the Friday after Thanksgiving. They start and jump in on arguments on forums.
There are other sections of the forum that hold hands and play games, I even sometimes join them, you can too.
Bible Discussion is filled with arguing , its the nature of the beast, as it's filled with a mixture of truth and error.

You have no freewill to choose to do good or bad?

When you say 'Christ's love for you is not contingent on your behavior' does that mean you can behave as good or bad as you want and Christ will still love you AND save you?

freedom in Christ fighters ? I don't know this phrase ... ? Paul never mentioned the good, will be labeled apostate. Did you read in 2 Thessalonians yet ?....

It means she is free to not sin
those who are lost, will sin because they are slaves of sin
jillyanne is not, and therefore she is free to say no

your words speak volumes sir.
I wish I were as "good" as all of you, but unfortunately I found out the hard way that I am not. Thanks be to Jesus that I am not depending on myself for the completion of salvation. He has this covered.

No one ever states this so your statement is ignorant and misleading......See we follow Jesus CHRIST and his last name is not CAMPBELL!
