Well im in a different situation then the average christian.
I am currently studying many different aspects of the bible, torah and quran.
I was born a catholic but never growing up had i believed many things that were told to me about the bible, due to the fact my father forced us to read the bible everyday.
Im glad he did, because i learned alot.

But i have questions because i am still battling between whats right and whats wrong.

For example, apparently we don't need to follow the old Laws,
Problem is, some christians say we do (why is that?) Some say we dont (why is that?) some say Paul said after jesus came, we dont need to know more (why is that?)

Because the bible clearly says in Mathew 10:18 WE DO infact need to follow it.

My point is why do we have so many people saying different things, I dont want to be apart of this Blind following traditions anymore.
What is right, and what is wrong.
Jesus is my main source, so if jesus says this, why dont we do it. Because Paul? Is pauls words greater than jesus. Not in my opinion.

I only want opinions please, because everyone has different opinons. I just add all the facts up and make my own conclusion later. Thanks.

--
Later i want opinions on the trinity.
For example Jesus in John 17:3 said the Father is the only true god..

Thanks

Why don't you give us your opinion.

You seem to have an opinion already.
Please share it with us.

My opinion is that we should follow more of what Jesus says in the bible compared to other voices?
Because in Jeremiah it was said cursed the man who believes in another man.

I dont want to put my faith in a mans words, I want Jesus's words.

And Jesus says something different than what the men in the bible claim, and weve been taught alot of what the men have said

Also can you please vote? Everyone

So, you believe the gospel books, but not the other books of the New Testament?

Sort of. I believe what makes sense.
Example, Sorry to say but truth is i dont think i believe in the trinity.

and it wasnt something i decided overnight, but over extensive research.

Its normal for some people to have taken Jesus as god, just as some people have taken Ghandi as god.
But, were those HUMANS correct, to claim Jesus is god in human form? EVENTHOUGH jesus has never once claimed that.

Jesus says the father is the only try God, therefore, the Father (In heaven) is the Only True God...

-
Also, I have read many sources of scholars claiming the trinity was not apart of our religion but added on

I look at all these things.

I friendly suggest, close this thread and start a new thread with honest intent laid out and maybe some fruitful conversation will proceed. Have to say I'm not a fan of deception.

Luke 10:41-42King James Version (KJV)

41*And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42*But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

The Bible is a measure of The Word of God not measurable.

John 3:33-35King James Version (KJV)

33*He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
34*For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
35*The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

Romans 12:2-4King James Version (KJV)

2*And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3*For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

I'm more for that God will right his laws in our hearts and minds. I meant he wrote in stone and that didn't work. The focus of our faith should be in the work of the cross. I meant we had the law and it didn't work, so God had to become a man and live perfectly and die on a cross so that we might be saved. So should we obey the law? well it is physically impossible. If we could obey the law then there would have been no need for Christ. I am right or wrong? Then why do we preach law? seeing that is does not work?

Well I preach the cross, why because it works. By placing faith in the work of the cross the Holy Spirit works in you and through you producing good fruit. The law can only produce sin and condemn you for it.

Sorry but i have to disagree :/ The law will only cause you less sin!!
I dont drink alcohol, why? Because its bad for you.
But see god warned us 3000 years ago not to drink alcohol, Jesus says why he came it was to save the black sheep from being non believers. Nothing about the law, only thing he mentioned about the law was that not one dot of the law will be abolished.

But its confusing because i know god doesnt want us stoning infidels like the OT says.. i dont get it

Hey brother, it's actually quite simple once you understand. The law was made for a physical people and it addressed their physical actions. It did nothing to actually change them or make them like God (loving).

What Jesus taught was to clean the INSIDE of the cup (and the outward actions will follow) and not just the OUTSIDe of the cup. Those who try to follow the law are hypocrites because they are attempting to be spiritual without addressing their sinful nature.

For those of us in Christ, we are being changed on the inside by the Holy Spirit and we reject our old ways (the ways of the flesh) and chose to conform our hearts and minds to the ways of the Spirit. Look up 1 Corinthians 13 for the TRUE definition of love, embrace it and conform yourself to it. Look up the fruit of the flesh, reject it. Look up the fruit of the Spirit... live it lol. Love you brother

I don't know what you can't understand. What paul was saying was that When Jesus came the knowledge we got from that and his teachings was really all we need to find our way to heaven. Everything else in this world is not that important. We all tend to over complicate our lives. We need to learn to simplify our lives and keep our thoughts on God until we can join him and all the souls in heaven. But while we are here we tend to forget why we are here. This is what we learned from jesus when he came here. And that we can follow him home.

Thanks, but in my situation i couldn't accept just anything . Thanks and i love you too!
I would say alot but id rather in private if we could, otherwise id rather keep my mouth shut here lol.

But also, you know everyone can come up with their own interpretations and understand any text the way they want to, in the end Jesus quotes and verses are what matter to me, not pauls, not johns.

Oh also, I just want to say... For those who are truly in Christ (desiring to be loving and like God) there is no sin. You are free to drink alcohol, however it is not beneficial in most circumstances and leads to impaired judgement. So you have to ask yourself, is it following your flesh to consume the alcohol? If it is, than do you really want to do it? However, I see no reason why an occasional beverage may be consumed, such as a cup of wine at dinner with family or things of that nature.

Actually its alot more complicated than that. Yes i loved the traditional way, but something told me i was doing something wrong. Maybe God even told me.

But things dont add up brother, we can't ignore things because we don't see it. Our ancestors stoned women for premarital sex, thank god we don't do it any more, but when asked why dont we do it we say because When jesus came all the laws changed.

Theres just more to it.. Jesus prayed on head, like abraham, moses, and even david if i recall.

Jews and muslims do it, why dont we?
Jews and muslims women cover their hair, why dont we?

Im not saying we should do any of this, my point is Am I really on the right track. and thats for me to figure out

Sorry, no im really going to have to disagree with you, again like i said we all have different opinions.

But not ALL our sins are just wiped away.. what would even be the point of jesus coming and doing all that he did for us. He was the teacher of that time too

Then if you are going to try to keep one law, you know you have to keep ALL of them right. If you want to try to be judged by the law and found innocent and perfect.... Good Luck lol :) Nobody besides Jesus has been able to do it
