I watch the 700 Club, and I heard Pat Robertson talk about all the wars started by Islams are started by a religion of war NOT peace. Is it really true that Islam is a religion of war not peace? And does it say anything about this in the bible?

Islam was started by the Jesuits in order to maintain wars without the Catholic Church being implicated. A complex, twisted story. Google it. The Arabs are decendents of Ishmael and Esau, 'men of war'.

He has a really great book on this subject actually :)

In perspective though, any religion in the hands of people can become a religion of war. A Muslim could argue the Crusades as an example, and rightfully so. They killed thousands upon thousands of Jews and Muslims, innocent Jews and Muslims. Took silver and gold, burned the place up, beheaded them. And of course built a church after it was all done. Same with various cults, some of the first missionaries to the Americas, and the KKK. Killing souls in the name that is meant save souls. Check out the book Christian Jihad.

Ultimately though, the Bible doesn't support this. Islam on the other hand sounds pretty supportive. Many Muslims don't know or realize this though, one's that had realized left the faith or went the other way and accepted it. #muslimsarethevictims

Any religion that wins converts for hell is a religion of war...even if they don't pick up a sword.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

I believe the principle of ruthless murder is in the bible but not specifically Islam.

Proverbs 1:10-19 (KJV)
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

Islam came along after Christ. It denies the deity of Christ. Anything that denies the gospel of Jesus Christ is antichrist. If it's not of Christ, it's of the devil. If it's of the devil, the devil specializes in lies and murder, as well as all things despicable.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

So, it's not just of bad behavior, warlike, Islam is Satanic. It turns into an oppressive, terroristic societal disease, when it's not warring. Also, it's well known Islam is only peaceful when it's militarily weak, only behaves when muzzled and on a strong leash. They only understand a bigger stick. The minute they have an upper hand, it's the jihad agenda, to enslave the world.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

624: Muhammad broke with his Jewish supporters because they refused to recognize him as a prophet and adopt Isalm. March 15,

641: Under the leadership of Abd-al-Rahman, Muslims conquer southern areas of Azerbaijan, Daghestan, Georgia, and Armenia.
641/2: Under the leadership of Amr ibn al-As, Muslims conquer the Byzantine city of Alexandria in Egypt. Amr forbids the looting of the city and proclaims freedom of worship for all. According to some accounts, he also has what was left of the Great Library burned the following year. Al-As creates the first Muslim city in Egypt, al-Fustat, and builds there the first mosque in Egypt.
652: Sicily is attacked by Muslims coming out of Tunisia (named Ifriqiya by the Muslims, a name later given to the entire continent of Africa).
653: Muawiya I leads a raid against Rhodes, taking the remaining pieces of the Colossus of Rhodes (one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world) and shipping it back to Syria to be sold as scrap metal.
654: Muawiya I conquers Cyprus and stations a large garrison there. The island would remain in Muslim hands until 0966.
655: Battle of the Masts: In one of the few Muslim naval victories in the entire history of Islam, Muslim forces under the command of Uthman bin Affan defeat Byzantine forces under Emperor Constant II. The battle takes place off the coast of Lycia and is an important stage in the decline of Byzantine power.
662: Egypt fell to the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphates until 868 A.D. A year prior, the Fertile Crescent and Persia yielded to the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphates, whose rule lasted until 1258 and 820, respectively.
667: The Arabs occupy Chalcedon, threatening Constantinople. Sicily is attacked by Muslims sailing from Tunisia.

July 19, 711: Battle of Guadalete: Tariq ibn Ziyad kills King Rodrigo (or Roderic), Visigoth ruler of Spain, at the Guadalete River in the south of the Iberian peninsula. Tariq ibn Ziyad had landed at Gibraltar with 7,000 Muslims at the invitation of heirs of the late Visigoth King Witica (Witiza) who wanted to get rid of Rodrigo (this group includes Oppas, the bishop of Toledo and primate of all Spain, who happens to be the brother of the late king Witica). Ziyad, however, refuses to turn control of the region back over to the heirs of Witica. Almost the entire Iberian peninsula would come under Islamic control by 718.
712: Muslim governor of Northern Africa Musa ibn Nusayr follows Tariq ibn Ziyad with an army of 18,000 as reinforcements for the conquest of Andalusia. Musa's father had been a Catholic Yemenite studying to be a priest in Iraq when he was captured in Iraq by Khalid, the "Sword of Islam," and forced to choose between conversion or death. This invasion of Iraq had been one of the last military orders given by Muhammed before his death.
715: By this year just about all of Spain is in Muslim hands. The Muslim conquest of Spain only took around three years but the Christian reconquest would require around 460 years (it might have gone faster had the various Christian kingdoms not been at each other' throats much of the time). Musa's son, Abd el-Aziz, is left in charge and makes his capital the city of Seville, where he married Egilona, widow of king Rodrigo. Caliph Suleiman, a paranoid ruler, would have el-Aziz assassinated and sends Musa into exile in his native Yemen village to live out his days as a beggar.

722: Battle of Covadonga: Pelayo, (690-737) Visigoth noble who had been elected the first King of Asturias (718-0737), defeats a Muslim army at Alcama near Covadonga. This is generally regarded as the first real Christian victory over the Muslims in the Reconquista.

-Sharia law- Sharia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sharia Law is a significant source of legislation in various Muslim countries,
namely Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iran, Brunei, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

There are two primary sources of sharia law: the precepts set forth in the Quranic verses (ayat),
and the example set by the Islamic prophet Muhammad in the Sunnah

-(Sunni) and (Shia) Islam are the two major denominations of Islam.
Islamic schools and branches - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Both Sunni and Shia Muslims share the most fundamental Islamic beliefs and articles of faith.

The differences between these two main sub-groups within Islam initially stemmed not
from spiritual differences, but political ones.

The division between Shia and Sunni dates back to the death of the Prophet Muhammad,
and the question of who was to take over the leadership of the Muslim nation.

Sunni Muslims agree with the position taken by many of the Prophet's companions,
that the new leader should be elected from among those capable of the job.

This is what was done, and the Prophet Muhammad's close friend and advisor,
Abu Bakr, became the first Caliph of the Islamic nation.

The word "Sunni" in Arabic comes from a word meaning "
one who follows the traditions of the Prophet."

Sunni Islam (/'su?ni/ or /'s?ni/) is the largest branch of Islam
adherents are known as Sunni Muslims, Sunnis, and Sunnites.

Sunni Islam is the world's second largest religious body (after Christianity)[2]
and the largest religious denomination for any religion in the world. Sunni Islam
is sometimes referred to as the orthodox version of the religion

The Shia (/'?i??/; Arabic: ???? Shi?ah), or the Shiites (/'?i?a?ts/),
represent the second largest denomination of Islam.

Adherents of Shia Islam are called Shias or the Shi'a as a collective or Shi'i individually.

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the patriarch of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, was a Twelver,

So, I'm seeing more war related to Islam than peace.
You're not going to see peace regarding islam.

This is reality -- if Israel's enemies laid down their weapons today, today we would have peace; if Israel laid down her weapons today, today we'd have a second holocaust.

Islam is not about peace it only creates war but then again I haven't seen Christianity create peace in the world either. Islam and Christianity stand for different things but they both seem to produce the same product. But then again did Jesus say he came to bring peace or a sword? The fact is we are at war we have been at war since the beginning of time and peace will only truly exist when the war is finally over, the world has never known peace there is always strive always hate always cruelty always brother against brother and eye for an eye.

Islam is a religion of peace. Once they have beheaded all unbelievers, murdered all Jews, executed all Christians who will not pay an exorbitant tax, destroyed all Muslims who disagree with them, conquered the world, then they will limit themselves to cutting off the hands and feet and eyes of any who someone decides to accuse, and will otherwise be at peace with one another, as long as no one upsets them or disagrees with them. or gets in the way of their accumulating wealth

when Jesus said that He had not come to bring peace but a sword, He did not mean that His followers would take up the sword. He meant that the world would hate them and take up the sword against them. His followers were to die by the sword.

[1] Shi'a is the short form of the historic phrase Shi?atu ?Ali (???? ???) meaning "followers",
"faction" or "party" of . Muhammad's son-in-law and (cousin Ali), whom the Shia believe to be Muhammad's successor in (the Caliphate)

The term Twelver refers to its adherents' belief in twelve divinely ordained leaders,
known as the Twelve Imams, and their belief that the Mahdi will be the returned
Twelfth Imam who disappeared and is believed by Twelvers to be in occultation.

-Most Twelvers are in Iran. The cia World Factbook says 90 to 95 percent of Iran’s
81 million people identify as Shiite, and around 85 percent of those adhere to Twelver Shiism.

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the patriarch of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, was a Twelver,
as is Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the current supreme leader in Iran.

-In 2012, Khamenei told the people of Iran: “We must prepare for the coming.
Since we consider ourselves the warriors of the 12th imam, we must fight.

Under the leadership of God, and with his invisible Power, we will restore the glory of Islamic Civilization.”
As Joel Rosenberg, former aide to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said,

n order to bring about this Islamic messiah, the Mahdi, the 12th imam, Islamic leaders
need to hasten his coming by destroying little Satan, Israel, and the great Satan, the United States. …

Today it pits Iran and Shiites of Iraq, Lebanon, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia against
the Sunnis of the Middle East. The disgust of Iranian leaders with the Little Satan (Israel)
is only exceeded by their disgust for the Great Satan (America).

The difference between Sunni and Shia Muslims today lies in which Hadith they accept and follow. It is the Hadith which determine Muslim belief, not the Quran which most Arabs cannot read or understand because it is in Classical Arabic.

I haven't seen Christianity create peace in the world either.
I encourage you to rethink this statement. Jesus' positive impact upon the Earth is greater than all other humans, armies and institutions combined. Jesus taught us the way, and His faithful, aka, Christianity, haven't missed a beat.

Everything from human rights to women's suffrage is on account of Christianity. The process was slow and bloodstained, yet Christianity prevailed and the world is extraordinarily better for it.

when Jesus said that He had not come to bring peace but a sword, He did not mean that His followers would take up the sword. He meant that the world would hate them and take up the sword against them. His followers were to die by the sword.
Then you misunderstand what I was saying. when he said he brings a sword he was talking about war not us killing ppl or even being killed by the sword persay but rather war between good and evil, he didn't come to bring unity but disunity to seperate the wheat from the chaff ect.
