13 Ways to Resurrect your old man and make a mess of your life as a Christian & to Show up at the Judgment Seat of Christ with Nothing.

1. Put down your King James Bible and read Newspapers, Magazines, or New Versions.


2. Pray only at Meals and maybe not even then.


3. Listen to the world's music, the heavier the beat, the better.


4. Watch Television and rent movies from Helliwood.


5. Stop Passing Out Tracts and Witnessing. And just pretend that its a Missionary in a foreign country or a pastor's job of a church building to go and witness to the lost and that it's not your responsibility. Convince yourself of that, and you'll make a wreck of your life.


6. Take a light attitude toward sin and become indifferent to what God in His word calls abomination.


7. Stop exercising and start eating processed food.


8. Pick up some alcohol, cigarettes, or anti-depressants to help you cope with stress.


9. Look at Pornography. Most Television is pornography.



10. Try to keep up with the world's fashions and look trendy.



11. Bury yourself in credit card debt, vehicle payments, and mortgages.



12. Start attending a liberal church building because of the programs they offer to your family.



13. Try to get along and be liked by everyone you meet. That's another good way to wreck your life as a Christian.



Now if you do these 13 steps, I can guarantee you that you will wreck your life as a Christian and you will show up at the Judgment Seat of Christ with nothing.

I'm thinking you could probably find Scripture to back up your entire list except number 7. My old Church was nicknamed Calorie (Calvary) Chapel, because of all the bake sales and food functions we had, yet we tried to do everything else on your list. I doubt the Lord is going to withhold a reward because of Doritos and the inability to run a 4 minute mile.

I think you and Bryan need to read your bible, even if it is only KJV, and listen to God.

Maybe you think that it is necessary to read the book King James wrote himself, all about witches?

For me, I will go to the best translations of the original language I can find and learn from God. Those 37 men that King James hired to translate did their best for people who lived at the same time Shakespeare lived, it was remarkably good, but they could use some improving on. When you had it so wrong about bible translations I didn't bother with the rest of your post.

I don't know what it is about the KJV Bible, does anybody know how to understand that Ole' English style writings. I believe people just like how the way it look on their bookshelf, because how can someone focus on God word while trying to decipher what it says into modern english.

I don't recall the bible mentioning anything about Music, Television Excercises, Renting Movies or Mortgages.

No...he's right about all this. Its the principle behind all these thing...like porn isn't in the Bible but its an act of fornication. Worldly music doesn't praise God or uplift people at all. You have a good point! Today's church reads God principles and say that as long as you have faith in them you are fine, let the HS lead. People of the church do need instructions on how to follow the lead of the HS. You can't do that while filling your mind with evil films portray, with not using the abundance God sends us wisely, in letting their music express ungodly things, or not caring for the temple God says our bodies are.

I've been thinking that it would even be better to follow God instructions to Hebrews for how to "do" before Christ lived with us, but these instructions on how to follow God is better. We need instructions on "doing" to follow the spirit of Christ. We could even stand on the street corner all day shouting how we believe and it wouldn't mean a thing to God. Like God said that our doing can just be legalistic. It takes both.

If i smoke tobacco( which I don't) I highly believe that will take away my faith, I like to listen to different kinds of music even if it's hard music but that does not bring up my old man. That's not fair Blain! Our church does need to at least discuss ways we can bring our worship of our Lord into everyday living. We know all about what Christ did for us, how important faith is to our living, lots of good things, but we sure don't know ways to bring our Christian walk into our "doing". We could at least talk about it, without this about going to hell if you don't do this and this. Our walk isn't about keeping us out of hell, our walk is in worship of our Lord.

I used to watch fam guy and american dad but stopped when I was reborn. They curse and talk about Jews and Jesus...it didn't sit right with me...we shouldn't like what the world does and how they act...and those shows mock Jesus and God and if we are Christian like we say we are we wouldn't support it. I know its only a cartoon but take into consideration that real people are behind those voices and real people write the scripts. They are not saved and are patterned after the course of this world. It would grieve my spirit every time family guy came on...samething with 2 and a half men...nothing but sex on there. Fornication and whoredom on Charlie's part...and these things is exactly what the bible preaches against. We can't be lukewarm. Either hot or cold. Love purity and hate iniquity.
