*Yawn* Disciple Dave just doing his prophet thang. Again.
Disciple Dave I like that guy, well he is disciple Dave and is a quirky dude, and never no what He is going to say, but Christ died for Him as well and I feel that he loves God.

You haven't been here long enough to like or not like him. He's not here a whole lot, but when he is he meets out judgements like they're going out of style. Sure, God loves him. Doesn't mean I have to approve of his posts.

Galatians 3:
27For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Sounds a little like equal footing for more than just women....something about we are all one in Christ Jesus? Flicks grain of sand your way....lol

PS: Like Phychomom I have a wonderful husband who loves me and I don't mind at all doing things for him. We have a happy home as one in Christ Jesus.

with a nice measure of Sahara dryness, too.
One of the things I love about my Tourist is - having several people over he may be quiet while we just gab about whatever and all of a sudden he will say something that just makes you crack a smile.....so dryly funny....... Yes.... JesusLives with Tourist...for those who might be wondering.... cause we be married for those who might not know....

Oh yeah !!!!! I would say the elegant essence of his exquisite humor is probably lost on 90 - 95% of the people he meets.
The Blond figured it out right away....lol

So... is this thread about child birth? lol
Yes I thought so too. I mean come on, a bossy husband is punishment or a bit of sweat while you're working?
I first arranged a hospital where I could get a spinal before I even conceived my third kid. They woke me up. He's coming now. Oh okay. Felt absolutely nothing.
I read a book about supernatural childbirth. Amazing those testimonies, but she said if you doubt even a little bit, better take a spinal.
About this obeying your husband, Timothy says she shall be saved in child bearing if she obeys her husband. Well I did, but with the second one it didn't work and I was the bossy one. They refused to give me any medication. I said to him: Pray in tongues, keep praying in tongues out loud! It's the only thing that works.
But what about these nurses here?
I DONT CARE!! SHE IS TOO LAZY TO GIVE ME MEDICATION, GO PRAY IN TONGUES!!!!
He wasn't the submissive type and he loved to boss me around, but this time he listened very well.

many times i come across one of Tourist's one liners here and have to stop to chuckle for a minute before i can go on. :D

i was blessed to have an uncle with a similar sense of humor, and may the Lord bless your Tourist for all the times he makes me laugh and reminds me of that much loved uncle. ♥

I don't know if it's because I'm an Aussie, but I sometimes get Tourist's sense of humour and then other times it's lost on me.

FreeNChrist and Utah, can you imagine something for me? Imagine you two standing in the middle of a room having this discussion in person and Jesus walks in. VVhat happens? A. You reconcile on the spot and apologize to one another B. You continue with such pettiness in front of the Lord, or C. You stand in silence, utterly ashamed of how you are treating your fellow brother in the Lord?

Both of you know of the righteousness that resides inside of you. Come on now. Put pettiness aside and go about your day. No need to defame one another.
My original post was sincere. I was sharing the sentiments of many singles here on CC, but our good friend became defensive rather than addressing the legitimate concern that was raised. And the next time you want to chastise me with a hypothetical, try PMing me instead. You'll gain much more of my respect.

It hasn't been my experience that married couples look down on singles, but I'm out of the age group where that could happen. (folks tend to calm down a lot as they get older lol)

The biggest problem I've seen in our fellowship is that singles don't feel like they fit into the classes geared toward young marrieds, or the small groups that are made up of young marrieds... it's almost like there's no niche for them.

One of the larger churches in our area (Dallas metroplex) was known for having a GREAT singles ministry. I think it was a draw for singles from all over the metro... which could mean folks driving 40-50 miles just to worship and work there.

This could be a whole new thread, about how to ensure young singles "fit" in with the body...

He sounds almost exactly like my granddad. He didn't say much at all, and when he did, it was usually almost under his breath, but, good grief... if you heard what he said, you'd fall down laughing. Very funny guy, with a dry, hilarious sense of humor. Not a mean bone in his body.

I miss him..

HeRose likes that your smugness was squashed like a cockroach.

Carry on, oh Proud One.
People are single for many different reasons and not all for negative reasons. There was nothing in my response that was an indictment of all singles. It was directed at one specific single man and his dark ages mentality who was lecturing “others" about women and "their" role in marriage. Men who have that kind of attitude about women are going to be single. That’s just a fact. If they want to be single, that’s probably fine with them. But if they don’t, then they have no need to look any further than themselves for the reason why.

And I write that as a single Christian man. Which is why your unfounded judgements of me are not only wrong, but comical.

Got to keep two Scriptures in mind:

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord." Eph 5:22

"
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it" Eph 5:25

Now please don't stone me
This is spectacular... Out of 5 pages of stone throwing and pointing out specs and splinters.... only two of you hit the nail on the head... This quote above is one, and there was one other. I dont recall what page it was on. This thread turned into a school yard argument of "my dad can beat up your dad."

If a woman loves her husband in a Christ centered relationship, she will "submit" (as the word is used in context) and the man will love and respect her as well as be the spiritual leader in the relationship. (nowhere does this mean he is to be domineering) And it is this foundation that will pave the way for the next verse which is for children to obey their parents.

People see the word "submit" and start flipping out. Learn it in context.

Ok, here's the context
including the verses that are left out 99 out of 100 times

[SUP]20 [/SUP]Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

[SUP]21 [/SUP]Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

[SUP]25 [/SUP]Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

[SUP]26 [/SUP]That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
[SUP]27 [/SUP]That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

[SUP]28 [/SUP]So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

I don't flip out if I see submit, but if I see punishment, LOL, why not call it a curse? It was a curse.
Sweetheart, will you marry me and submit to me?
Yes! I deserve that curse!!
