I find it ironic that men always quote Ephesians 5:22 which says for wives to be subject to your own husbands and the verse before it uses the very same Greek word for " be subject" in verse 21 - we are to be subject to each other as we are all in Christ.
This includes the husband at times needs to "be subject" to the wife. ( ouch!

There is a lot more to this "be subject" business then what we have been religiously taught. A little studying into the Greek word " be subject" shows that it has the meaning of " to yield to another's admonition or advice " Thayers Greek-English Lexicon
We can all use this type of be subject in our Christian lives concerning one another.

Ed was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really mad. She told him, "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds, and it better be there!"
The next morning, Ed got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window, and sure enough, there was a medium sized, gift-wrapped box in the middle of the driveway.
Confused, the wife put on her robe, ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back into the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.
Funeral services for Ed have been scheduled for Friday.

FreeNChrist and Utah, can you imagine something for me? Imagine you two standing in the middle of a room having this discussion in person and Jesus walks in. VVhat happens? A. You reconcile on the spot and apologize to one another B. You continue with such pettiness in front of the Lord, or C. You stand in silence, utterly ashamed of how you are treating your fellow brother in the Lord?

They are OK....just brothers jousting about with each other!... they will have each other's back fighting against those that oppose the gospel of the grace of Christ. They are our mightiest defenders of the faith in Christ alone for salvation. All is well!....

Jesus changed it. A controlling woman is wrong and the N.T. also says she has to obey, but it's not a curse or a punishment anymore. It can be annoying if the guy is not saved and bossy, but if she does that and he doesn't leave he gets saved. She lays her life for him down then out of love.
A controlling man is the same as a controlling woman. It's a demon of control that's in charge. Not really the christian marriage God wants.

First Disciple Dave I notice you aren't married...hummm. You know of all the uplifting and edifying things you could share,you chose this subject. We have a lost and dying world,yet you chose to make a thread on this.
