Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

How was the righteousness of God manifested? God revealed His righteousness through the faith of Jesus Christ.What is faith? Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Faith requires evidence. Faith requires obedience. James says faith without works is dead, being alone. Where's the evidence of Christ's faith? Where's the evidence of Christ's obedience? Hebrews 11 goes on to tell us of the faith of those OT saints and then gives us the evidence of their faith in their obedience.

Philippians 2:8, "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

Christ's faith was made evident in His obedience even unto death. He would say over and over that He had come to do the will of His Father. Christ's perfect faith was on display through His life, death, and resurrection which is the gospel of Christ. God's righteousness was on display through the faith of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 3:9, "And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:"

Galatians 2:16, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

I am justified by the faith of Jesus Christ upon believing the gospel. Where's the evidence that I've been justified? Look no further than the cross. It's not my faith, but Christ's faith that justifies a man.

Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

The righteousness of God, the faith of Jesus Christ, is unto all. It's available to whosoever, but it's upon all that believe.

The faith of Christ was not even available to those OT saints.

Galatians 2
22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Notice at the end of Hebrews 11
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Those OT saints lived by their own faith and the evidence of their faith is the report about them. We live by the faith of Jesus Christ and the evidence of Christ's faith is in His report.

Let's get real.
When Paul wrote about being justified by faith, and "Christ lives in me", the man was probably living on bread crumbs, wearing rags, getting beaten often, just trying to make it to the next town to preach.

it's easy to sit at Starbucks and punch out a text on your Iphone 7 to your friend, about how awesome your faith is.

Paul actually teaches the believer is justified by the faith of Jesus Christ. That's real.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Rom 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
Rom 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
Rom 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Can i or anyone from any age in history say that they are without sin? All have sinned except Christ. The Blood of Jesus is the only blood that can save anyone from any age. Faith is the only means to access that perfect blood.

The same faith the only difference is that the people before Christ looked forward by faith and those after Christ look back by faith.

The shadows and ceremonial laws were given to help them look forward.

wonderful. but the problem is, anyone can say they are a believer. (mat7)
Yep, and only the Lord knows who are his.

2 Timothy 2:19, "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity."

The Lord knows who are His by the seal of the Holy Spirit He has placed into the life of a believer. The foundation, which is Christ, will always stand sure even when we don't.

The laws that were a school master, a teacher, were the ceremonial laws, (lambs and blood offerings etc) that Gods people were required to obey.
By putting their faith in these ceremonies they were putting their faith in the better thing to come (Christ). They didn't have Christ but were kept under the law to show their faith in what would be revealed. They still needed faith in God and God's forgiveness (think of the pass over).

"Those OT saints lived by their own faith and the evidence of their faith is the report about them. We live by the faith of Jesus Christ and the evidence of Christ's faith is in His report."
This i don't agree with.
The OT saints lived by faith in the ceremonies and what they meant, it didn't matter how deeply they understood their meaning because God judges their faith by their fruits. We live by faith in what all the ceremonies pointed to (Jesus Christ), the better thing, and the evidence of our faith in Christ is also seen in our fruits. Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

We can see and understand the shadows now, but they had no understanding of the cross in the OT. The OT saints had faith in what God was instructing them to do and the evidence of their faith was in their obedience. Noah had faith in what God had told him about the upcoming flood and to build an ark. What's the evidence that Noah had faith in what God told him? Noah built the ark.

After the cross, a man is justified by the faith of Jesus Christ. Where's the evidence of Christ's faith? The evidence is the cross. The evidence is found in the gospel of Christ. Christ was obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Can we make that judgment if a man is saved or not? Can you list some fruits that a saved man will show that an unsaved man never shows?

no God makes all judgement.
You said "We can see and understand the shadows now, but they had no understanding of the cross in the OT. i believe that faith and it's relation to works is the same today. We have Christ and His life to build our faith on they didn't. But my works show faith, like Noah. If Jesus is working in us and we are living for Him we have the faith of Christ.
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

The difference is in the dispensations. We now live and are justified by the faith of Jesus Christ. Do you want to see the works of my justification, then look no further than the cross.

James is talking to a whole different group of people in a different dispensation. Notice the wording, my faith and my works. Paul says clearly that a man is justified by the faith of Christ and Christ's work on the cross. Big difference.

James later says in verse 24, "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."

Paul clearly says a man is justified by the faith of Christ in Galatians 2:16, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

The righteousness of God, the faith of Jesus Christ, is unto all. It's available to whosoever, but it's upon all that believe.

Yes.. So we leave it up to God to decide who believes and who does not.. And we accept the Words of Paul to be the inspired Holy Spirit given Message of God.. Not """the man was probably living on bread crumbs, wearing rags, getting beaten often, just trying to make it to the next town to preach."""" .... Nope..

God who looks into the very soul of us all already knows who believes what... Outer signs may offer some vague signs to other men.. We know that false believers can put on a very good religious works act to impress those around them. But God cannot be fooled..

i Spent a long time explaining why i don't agree with Dispensationalism in another post and i think this is the main difference between us. I'll just say that i look to Christ as my propitiation and believe that he has paid the price for my sins. My faith and love for Jesus results in works and fruits (Him dwelling in me).

Rom_3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
1Jn_2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Jn_4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

justified by the FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD is an advanced level of understanding known as strong meat; and is only suitable for the initiates in Christ.
my pastor would always say this" the church is the only institution in the world where students of various levels( ranging from pr-nursery to Doctorate) are found in one class room. just something to think about brethren".
