[SUP]21 [/SUP]“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’ [SUP]23 [/SUP]And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’
. Mathew 7:21-23

[SUP]34 [/SUP]I am giving you a new commandment, that you [SUP][a][/SUP]love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. [SUP]35 [/SUP]By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.” John 13:34-35

[SUP]3 [/SUP]and said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent [that is, change your inner self—your old way of thinking, live changed lives] and become like children [trusting, humble, and forgiving], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

" matthew 18:3

There is way too much disdain for people who make posts or talk about the same topic and have something valuable to say. you not only show your hard heart but you drive people away. Most people want answers or just want to share and you push them away, shame on you.

Do you think that 'Lord, Lord' would be like saying LORD God?

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’

I haven't figured out if those
who say that "God said" because they read it in the scriptures consider that as prophesy of scripture?

[SUP]23 [/SUP]And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. Mathew 7:21-23
Wouldn't omnipresence make that impossible?

"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you
belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you
do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.
That is why the world hates you."

We are all hated on. Who are you trying to shame? Surely someone will come along and
claim your OP is evidence of your own hard heart. That's how these things seem to work.

This very response, careless and lacking love "I don't know what you're talking about, mate." I wonder if you were speaking to someone face to face if you'd speak with this attitude. There are three that liked your response this in itself shows the heart of this site. Instead of showing concern or asking a question you decide to pull down. Why not ask "I'm not sure what you mean Josiah, could you explain please?"

Using "Mate" on the end of your sentence is an attitude I am very familiar with and is not a loving way to end your sentence.

(omnipresence) The Lord is speaking of when we are judged by him in heaven :). "God said" depending on who is saying it and in what context I guess :). "Lord, Lord"-"Lord God" I think it would although knowing that he was one with God he did not count himself as one, being one with the father before the universe was for this is the God we trust in Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One God in three persons.

Good grief! I'm an Aussie. We say 'mate' all of the time. I didn't say it to blow you off. But since you seem to be the one here with the attitude problem (accusing me for who knows what), I think it's appropriate for me to tell you to grow up.

Thank you for your observation, very true and when we read this text our Lord Jesus Christ (meaning we are brothers and sisters in Christ) is speaking of the world not our own brothers and sisters. I feel ashamed when I see my own "brothers and sisters" fighting and having no love in their conduct, their conversations lack humble gratitude and respect for one another. Look at nearly every post in bible discussion, what utter lack of love. I am ashamed, Paul would shame us for our attitude toward one another. Lord we need to change our hearts, searching for truth but lacking love.

Thank you Tintin, I have noticed that I have become hurt and disappointed by the responses on this site and have taken it out on you. Forgive me. I will pray about this, for how can I tell a brother to take the speck out his eye when I myself have a plank in my own. I have just noticed a trend on this site to pull down people or in their anger or need to be right attack the person. Saddened by this but in saying that I have done it myself. Apologies. Have a great day.

Thanks, Josiah. I didn't expect this post. That's very commendable of you. Unfortunately, the Bible Discussion Forum is generally (not always, but often) hellish. It's not good, it's not right and that's why many of us stay out of there or limit our time there. Hopefully, you have a more positive experience in other parts of the forum. God bless you and thanks ago. I forgive you. Have a blessed day and Christmas. God bless, brother.

Faith without works is dead.
Hello Josiah,

When the man on the cross next to Jesus said, "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom" did Jesus say "sorry, but since you can't come down and perform any works nor be baptized, you can't be saved?" No, in fact Jesus said, "today you will be with me in paradise."

"God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."

Kindly I did not say salvation is a reward, please understand what paul means when he says "Faith without works is dead". I understand what you mean however you haven't understood, yes salvation is free but do we go on sinning? NO, if so we are a slave to sin and even though we say we are saved and profess faith in Christ we are not saved, context is important. Salvation is free don't get me wrong but a man that does not repent, meaning who does not turn away from his sin and change he will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Refer to what the King says below.

John 8:31
"So Jesus was saying to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples. [SUP]32 [/SUP]And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].” [SUP]33 [/SUP]They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone. [SUP][d][/SUP]What do You mean by saying, ‘You will be set free’?”
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Jesus answered, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, everyone who practices sin habitually is a slave of sin. [SUP]35 [/SUP]Now the slave does not remain in a household forever; the son [of the master] does remain forever. [SUP]36 [/SUP]So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free. [SUP]37 [/SUP]I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you plan to kill Me, because My word has no place [to grow] in you [and it makes no change in your heart]. [SUP]38 [/SUP]I tell the things that I have seen at My Father’s side [in His very presence]; so you also do the things that you heard from your father.”

If we are not changing and becoming more like Christ and continue in sin, not loving one another, looking at the backside of women when they walk down the street checking out boobs when there is a chance we have made an idol of women and not seen the treasure that is Gods Son, we have not trully grasped His power nor His unfailing love. If we just shrug our shoulders and say " well I'm just a male and boobs are beautiful" then we have become lukewarm and settled on worldly passions and can not profess to trully love the Lord Jesus Christ. I am very thankful for Willie T's encouragement to read the book "Eyes of Honor" although I have not read it the excerpt given to me has given me enough fuel to understand my failure to know my destiny in Christ is the missing piece. My eyes have been opened and I see clearly, I am not a product of the world I live in but renewed by the living King Jesus Christ. Chosen by God before the universe began.

Thank you

In the Bible, the word repent means “to change one’s mind.” The Bible also tells us that true repentance will result in a change of actions (Luke 3:8-14; Acts 3:19). Acts 26:20 declares, “I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.” The full biblical definition of repentance is a change of mind that results in a change of action.

I can say i believe and act like i do or i can say i believe and act like i don't (some people are lying) but my actions are my real way of showing what i believe because words are cheap. To say i have faith and to act unfaithfully would be a contradiction, having faith results in being faithful.
Believing in Jesus is one thing,, but knowing Jesus personally and believing in His ability to change and save us naturally results in works of righteousness.

I can't judge if someone believes or not but not everyone that says, or thinks, they are saved will be.
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Be careful you don't deceive yourself into thinking your fine because many will find out that day they are not saved.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Just FYI, Paul did not say "faith without works is dead", James did.

[FONT=&quot]I understand what you mean however you haven't understood, yes salvation is free but do we go on sinning?

[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]You are correct, we should not go on sinning, but I never brought that up. A true believer is trusting in Christ as the One who provided salvation for them.

[FONT=&quot]Salvation is free don't get me wrong but a man that does not repent, meaning who does not turn away from his sin and change he will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Refer to what the King says below.

[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I agree with you. Again, I never mentioned any of what you said above in my post.

I responded to your post which said "Faith without works is dead." I was merely stating that we are saved by grace through faith apart from works. I don't know why you brought up everything else above, as I did not respond to any of that.[/FONT]
