I am guessing the op is yet another victim of the bible discussion forum and us (loving) Christians. I have seen so many being run away form this site because of how people act in the bdf and several of them I kept in contact with and they ran away from Christianity in general all because of how we claim to shine the truth and God's light and yet it has the opposite effect of God's light and truth it doesn't bring people to God it scares them away.

In the moment we all try to win the debate and begin to point the finger and attack and mock each other we never realize the amount of damage we are doing the people we are scaring away and the pain we cause in peoples hearts nor do we seem to consider that. As I have said many times before every word and action is like a pebble falling into a pond it creates ripples that expand in size and radius lets say the pond is the people our words and actions effect now imagine how much more our ripples influence in the internet where the pond of peoples hearts are much more vast.

It's much more important to show God's heart and his love than it is to prove yourself right and this is but one example of this

There is way too much disdain for people who make posts or talk about the same topic and have something valuable to say. you not only show your hard heart but you drive people away. Most people want answers or just want to share and you push them away, shame on you.
So true

So in essence we who are saved by our choice can be lost eternally...

By our UNFORGiVEN actions and thoughts can separate us from God if

The belief that once saved is always saved is a lie... Is a false doctrine

I sat here wondering, "Now, who is just going to HAVE TO correct him on that 'James' comment?" (I guessed correctly........ although I also had a few others in mind. LOL)

Just from my own experience, don't try to be too good, just keep your thoughts on God the Father and on Jesus Christ and moment by moment work at staying in the will of God. None of us are going to be all that good because we are stuck with a flesh nature that does not want to serve God but only wants to serve itself. Don't expect people to do the right thing or you will live a miserable life, however look for people to do the right thing and when they do rejoice and encourage them.

Thank you everyone for you responses, I have read them and appreciate your time and the effort put into them. I am by no means perfect, I merely observed a habit that seemed to be forming across the forum. I can certainly be more loving in my responses.

Yes James not Paul :) thank you "notmyown".

Peace and love to you all and if I don't speak to you, have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

I could be perfect and loving if people weren't so hard to get along with.

All of you need to work on that. I'm pretty sure its a command somewhere.

This very response, careless and lacking love "I don't know what you're talking about, mate." I wonder if you were speaking to someone face to face if you'd speak with this attitude. There are three that liked your response this in itself shows the heart of this site. Instead of showing concern or asking a question you decide to pull down. Why not ask "I'm not sure what you mean Josiah, could you explain please?"

Using "Mate" on the end of your sentence is an attitude I am very familiar with and is not a loving way to end your sentence.
When TinTin calls you a mate, it's a good thing. I know of others who do it and it's not a good thing. So, now you're judging people basically from your outside influences?

Not working for me, since you are doing the very thing you're trying to shame others for doing.

Hey brother Josiah... agree with you about the attitudes in regards to the replies and comments we make including myself but i hope we still can leave room for disagreement and still engage in robust dialogue and argument without all the nasty stuff though. :)

Thank you Tintin, I have noticed that I have become hurt and disappointed by the responses on this site and have taken it out on you. Forgive me. I will pray about this, for how can I tell a brother to take the speck out his eye when I myself have a plank in my own. I have just noticed a trend on this site to pull down people or in their anger or need to be right attack the person. Saddened by this but in saying that I have done it myself. Apologies. Have a great day.
Now that I get. Yeah, really. I'll tell you what happens on this particular forum. (This and the News Forum.) Everyone comes with hope and excitement. "A place to discuss the Bible? How cool is that?"

And then they read and join in, only to discover the vast majority of the threads are generated about the same topics by the same people and are divided into sides. And both sides are so full of their I-am-right, they won't listen to anyone who disagrees. (Not saying "all." Saying full enough the lone voice is often drowned out.)

And then it gets to the point where we ask ourselves, "Is it even worth reading the same thing everyday by the same angry people?"

And then, once in awhile, a new thread pops up from someone who isn't mad at someone else, and we get excited all over again.

BUT we have to wade through post after post of utter nonsense to find those gems. And since there is always one person on here who comes in and dumps a bunch of click-bait posts to hide any of the enjoyable posts onto the 2nd or 3rd page within an hour, it gets tedious again.

And then we get angry at the tediousness. And then we get angry because others are angry at us and we have no idea why.

And then someone (like you just did) post something about "Can't we all love each other," but someone has to notify you that that happens every month, but nothing changes, (like I'm doing. lol)

So most leave. And what is left? Mostly the angry ones getting angrier. This is their entertainment and people just like them.

There really isn't a thing we can do about it. Apparently, it's profitable to leave it this way. So, the only thing we can really do is try and not let it get to us. Or leave. But it does come down to choosing what's best for us, because this really is a free-for-all for the angry ones.

There are a few who can take it and it doesn't change their kindness and love. I'm simply not one of them. (And TinTin is.)

Continue to walk in love as the Lord wants us to. There will always be those with a holier than thou / arrogant mentality. Try not to allow it to change who you are & pray for those type of people because the Lord will judge the church first.

Do you think that 'Lord, Lord' would be like saying LORD God?

I haven't figured out if those
who say that "God said" because they read it in the scriptures consider that as prophesy of scripture?

Wouldn't omnipresence make that impossible?
Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Wouldn't the word of God make it the truth?

The bdf is not for the faint of heart and I say this in honesty not to put anyone down. Lots of people have a hard time responding in love and calmness in the fires of the war zone called the bdf this is something that God teaches and molds in us and for some it takes longer than others.

I didn't used to be able to respond in love but in time God molded it into me. The issue is some never learn this because their reason for being in the bdf is not to learn and discuss the things of God. Some relish the high of a fiery heated debate and have no intention of learning only to prove themselves right these are the ones who need our prayers the most as they will never know God or love in that state of mind.

The bdf is indeed a harsh place but interestingly enough is also the best field for God's love to shine the most considering how a majority of the bdf lacks his love after all the light shines brightest in the darkness

Hello Josiah,

When the man on the cross next to Jesus said, "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom" did Jesus say "sorry, but since you can't come down and perform any works nor be baptized, you can't be saved?" No, in fact Jesus said, "today you will be with me in paradise."

"God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."
The Message of Salvation to All
Rom 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
Rom 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
Rom 10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

2Co 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

There is more than one kind of work written in the bible. What you are describing is of the law. There is a work of faith, which is what Josiah is talking about. Something very few know about on this site.
Speaking or voicing the word or promises of God, is a work of faith, IF you believe it in your heart.
If you speak it without any faith, then nothing will happen. If it is for salvation, then you only said the sinner's prayer, but remain a child of the devil.
If you believe only, but do not act on that belief, again, you remain a child of the devil.
Faith without works is dead and works without faith is the same.
