This is my personal belief. We can also speak out of our own mind without the prompting of the Holy Spirit and try to "make things" happen in our own fleshly attempts.

Jesus said that He didn't do the works but the Father in Him was doing His works. Jesus said that He could do nothing by His own initiative.

I believe in these areas we are just as dependent on the Holy Spirit as Jesus was on the Father in Him to do His good works by the Holy Spirit within Jesus.

Personally I don't dictate "what the provision looks like" or "how it comes about" unless I have that particular desire born in me when I'm praying in my communion with the Lord.

Jesus said "When you pray...whatsoever you desire - ask and believe that you have received it and you shall have it."

We get our true desires in our communion with the Lord. When having this time together with Him - His desire for us comes up and it is born in us. This is the desire that we are to ask for.

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. It's His desires being born in us as we fellowship with Him as our loving Father.

"For it is God who is at work in you both to will ( which is the desire ) and the capability to do of His good pleasure." Phil. 2:13

Amen again Brother!! It all ties together as one verse works off or feeds off the other sort of speak. Just goes to prove how important knowing the Bible is for each of us individually. To take verses and compare them to other verses and always to see the Word from the perspective of the Cross. Many times I used to get caught up on promises that were not for me or judgments that were not for me. I didn't know that the whole Bible is written FOR us but not every verse was specifically written TO us.

When I read certain prophetic subjects in some of the Gospels, I must apply many to the Jews. Not doing that will mess up what is true for us today. But we don't have to be discouraged that we don't know the Hebrew and Greek words right now. We can trust that the Holy Spirit is able to teach us supernaturally. As we move along in our reading and studying we get some 10 fold some 20 fold some 50 fold.... And each "fold" along the way is just what we needed at the time and more is to come as we persist.

How wonderful that Jesus leaves His Holy Spirit to keep us from being alone and led astray!
There's always MORE and MORE to come because He loves us and wants us to be aware and walk in confidence.

I believe blessings and curses are still in effect

many Christians do not

however, I have seen release in people's lives when they address certain things

one of my parents used to say to me many times, 'you are your own worst enemy'

I came to recognize that as a curse and began to see how that played out in my life. Did they mean it that way? no of course not. we need to be careful in our words, or did Jesus say we will have to answer for every idol word for nothig?

I know this subject alone can start WWIII LOL!

Very much agree with you about we are our own worst enemies. We need to be saved from ourselves!! And I think this has to do with the Holy Spirit teaching us. I don't believe in curses for the believer today because Jesus took our curse by being a curse for us.

But I have seen and know that intents of our heart come out of our mouths. We can foolishly say things and convince ourselves of them by the very use of them coming out of our mouths. We can convince ourselves we are stupid for instance or that God is mad at us.

If we are constantly saying negative things about ourselves and others we will walk those wrong beliefs out because we are saying them all the time and making the lie a truth for us. God is not in agreement with us but then we are not in agreement with God either when we say He condemns us. But He won't curse us or condemn us for our stupidity or unbelief anymore.

Our words will mess us up badly for sure and God won't stop us from not believing Him. For many years I ignored the truth of His love for me and instead exchanged that truth for the lie that He condemns and is judging us. I suffered the pain of rejection but He never rejected me.

I very much agree about words and the tongue. But we bring down our own misery. God will not judge us for every idle word. We have already been judged for all the sin that condemned us when Jesus died on the Cross.
Another reason for my always looking at the Word of God in light of the Cross. It changes everything.

I responded to what you wrote

what you wrote was not in response to the op. what you wrote is something you want to discuss...HEALING

why can't people stay on topic here? people start a thread on how to dig a trench and someone else comes along and says you can't build that mountain here

it's like disneyland in reverse. it's a ride but not much fun

It all ties together and healing has just as much to do with prayer as anything IMO. Is it true that the effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much? Yes. But who is a "righteous" man? Is it the works a person does that makes them a righteous man? Or is it Jesus who makes him/her righteous?

The change that occurs in prayer when we go in Christ for all we ask is LIFE CHANGING. Not only for healing but also for other answers to prayer. We can always go in confidence and freedom when we go in His righteousness given to us. This does something major for a believer. First, it takes our eyes off of us and our performance of pride of works OR shame of lack of works and instead puts the credit for deserving the blessings on Christ where it really is. Or the penalty for guilt and punishment already paid for IN Christ on the Cross.

This changes everything about prayer. It also changes everything about how we see the love of God poured out on us and others. We begin to see grace actively working in our lives by the faith we put in Jesus. We get what we do not deserve and the love of God in Christ changes us into the image of Jesus. We love Him because He first loved us.. This is also a progression of growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have found that it is best to proclaim what the Lord says to your spirit - not just what you read in the bible. To listen after you have shared your feelings about something with him. When I was first diagnosed with cancer and prayed for healing, these were the words he spoke to me "Though it tarry, wait for it". That was almost 6 months ago. Now that is a word that caused me to realize that I would need to go through surgery to remove half of my mouth, and then go through lots of radiation for my neck glands.

I also felt he was asking me to surrender to the procedures with thanksgiving - that He wanted to show His glory and works in another way other than just instant healing. And, indeed, He is. People are watching me closely and see that His joy never leaves me and that I exude a peace that passes all understanding. They see the grace given to endure. They see how the Lord is taking the brunt of much of what I could suffer. So now I understand what is meant by "Give thanks for everything". Giving thanks for even the illness (or other problems) sanctifies it for His use. "Everything is sanctified by prayer and thanksgiving".

This is not about healing (just used a personal example). It is about listening and then more listening. Jesus will always reveal his purposes for you. And whatever he says he wants to do for you, give to you, or withhold from you, that is what you proclaim with thanksgiving.

yes Jesus took our curses and sins upon Himself

I won't derail your thread regarding curses, my view and what I have learned and experienced over the years indicates something different then what you believe regarding curses

but I don't want to derail your thread and for sure, that is a controversial subject

thanks

we had that conversation in another thread though, so again, I won't detract :)

I agree Joidevivre.,
We are walking out our faith one step at a time. Learning as we go how better to see Jesus in our lives. Looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith.

I am not sure that I could face such things

but I know God gives grace for what we need when we need it

it kind of sounds like your focus is more on what you can do for God and how you can live for Him then what He can do for you

this is courage, but really I have no words for the reality of what you write

What about these preachers and "healers" who say "I declare you be free of <whatever>! ... and nothing happens?
People need to go to the Lord for themselves and quit making idols out of preachers... it's not magic, nobody can magically make God move.

On the other hand, there have been people healed when others pray for them.

Do you know the scriptures in the New Testament when Jesus said lay hands on the sick and they will recover... and if there be any sick among you call for the elders of the church and the prayer of faith shall save the sick?

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever... he is most definitely still healing people today.

But, scoffers and un-believing believers don't have to concern themselves with any of this because God will not force Himself upon anyone who choose to not believe what He promised in His Word YO

It's ok, these are not distractions since prayer applies to everything in our lives. We ask for the leading of the Bible and the Holy Spirit when we pray for things like which job to take, how to raise a self centered teenager who we love dearly who is about to ruin their life., how to chose the house to live in or city to go to., how to manage a hateful individual who comes into our path on a daily basis at work., How to deal with old habits of being self protective and isolated when He wants us to be fearless and dependent on Him..... Just a few issues many of us deal with in life.

We also have to ask the even harder questions regarding life and that is about sickness and how to pray about that too. What can we expect from Jesus about all of these issues that have to do with our lives every day as we mingle with other people., and our reactions to the people and the situations and ourselves and our weaknesses. How do we pray for all of those things and what is God's will in such matters? All of these are issues we all ask and have come to some conclusions about. Many of my conclusions have changed over the last few years.

I am open to changing my mind

it has been a journey to get to where I am now and I know I will see differently and understand differently as I continue

I do know people interpret things differently, but Jesus and God's plan are central

I know we agree about that!

I have to go to town so won't be posting after this. I'm learning how important it is to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and how prayer is a learning process . It is the obedience of faith for me to not look to the right or to the left in regards to how I'm lead to follow straight ahead to Jesus.

It is a tribulation to be here in the body and to fight in the trial of my faith. I'm not called to be in (comparison) to how another Christian walks out their walk with Jesus. We are not supposed to be comparing why one has this and another has that. This is not easy.

But how can we dare walk out someone else's faith? We can't. So where sevenseas believes there is no healing in the atonement she has her beliefs based on Scripture and the Holy Spirit. Where I believe we do have healing in the atonement I have my own beliefs based on Scripture and the Holy Spirit. How important is it to be convinced in our own minds to walk out the path Christ has set before us? Very. and especially at such times when our brethren are being tried. Yet we must. That's the good fight of faith.

I read about Joidevivre and her battle with cancer and the things she is learning from God on the way. I can't walk in her shoes because I'm not Joidevivre. My best friend Barbara is living through stage 4 lung cancer and we work closely together each day on the (earth floor) sort of speak. What is God teaching Barb and what is God teaching me? We are both walking out faith one day at a time. Just like Joidevivre is.

There is no room to proclaim how someone else should be walking. But we can share how God is leading us to walk and in that find encouragement in Him and His ability to hold us up through the storms of life. He will not leave us and He will bring into our lives the 10-20-30-80 fold equation He has for us. Of that I'm certain and because of that assurance in His love that does not fail for any one of us, I can walk on in my own shoes on the path He leads. Confidence being in Him regardless of what my eyes see. Else I would fall to circumstances in life He has already delivered me from. He has taught me to keep walking.

Even as close as Barbara and I are, I don't know what is going on with this cancer except that it's harming her, making her cry and weakening her. That is all I can see. What I can know for sure is that my role is to pray for healing for her each day with more conviction than the day before. As I care for her body with my hands, I can also care for her body and heart by praying she is encouraged and strengthened as she goes through and comes out the other side.

This stuff is real and we are in a battle. We need all that Jesus has given us when He died on the cross. And it's amazing how even faith as small as a mustered seed is enough to get us through the next hour or day. Last week the spot on Barb's brain was gone when she went to Albany for the planned surgery. It was seeping into effecting her brain stem. How can we even battle such a thing as cancer? Praying. That's all I know.

PRAYERS THAT PROCLAIM

When you have a need, do you pray or do you plead? Do you begin your prayers with words like, “Please God, please! God, I beg You to have mercy!”

Prayers that plead and beg imply that your heavenly Father is not willing to do it. Yet, He is far more gracious and willing to give to you than you are willing to ask, think or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20) He desires above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)

In fact, long before you have a need, God has already met that need. Long before you knew you needed a Savior, He sent His Son to be your Savior. This is your God! He is a good God. So when you beg Him for something, you are actually saying that He is reluctant to give and needs to be persuaded strongly before He will move. Yet, He is not like that.

Jesus knew the heart of the Father. When He saw the woman bound with a spirit of infirmity, He did not pray, “Oh Father! She has been suffering for 18 long years! I beseech You, Father, have mercy on her. Please, please heal her!” No, when Jesus saw her, He immediately proclaimed, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity,” because He knew the heart of the Father. He knew that the Father wanted her delivered from her crippling condition.

At the end of a church service, I don’t stand and pray, “Oh God, please bless Your people. Oh God, do keep them. Oh God, be ever so gracious to them!” Instead, I proclaim, “The Lord bless you. The Lord keep you. The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you!”

Beloved, when you pray, proclaim your healing, protection and provision because your Father’s heart overflows with love for you. And when you declare it, He sanctions it. When you declare it, He establishes it!

Luke 18:1Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,2saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. 3“There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me legal protection from my opponent.’ 4“For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,5yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.’” 6And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge said; 7now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? 8“I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

21Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.” 23But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.” 24But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27But she said, “Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28Then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed at once.

There's nothing wrong with crying out for mercy.

Perhaps if joseph prince went to seminary, or had some kind of religious education, or even studied his Bible, he would know that.

As I care for her body with my hands, I can also care for her body and heart by praying she is encouraged and strengthened as she goes through and comes out the other side.
hold the horses here! I believe God heals. I do not believe Jesus had to die for physcial healing. It appears to already have been there if you study the old testament, even people raised from the dead. Jesus had to die for our sins to be forgiven but He healed BEFORE he died. That, is what I am actually saying. see the difference there?

This stuff is real and we are in a battle. We need all that Jesus has given us when He died on the cross. And it's amazing how even faith as small as a mustered seed is enough to get us through the next hour or day. Last week the spot on Barb's brain was gone when she went to Albany for the planned surgery. It was seeping into effecting her brain stem. How can we even battle such a thing as cancer? Praying. That's all I know.
yes it's real

most of my battles have been spiritual ones. doesn't matter. God allows what He allows in our lives and the answer is always the same no matter the differences in the details

I truly cannot imagine some of the physical suffering. it hurts to even read about it.

DESTINED TO REIGN DEVOTIONAL FOR 4/18
I find that when I pray for others and not myself I usually get what I need....

Why are you plagiarizing Joseph Prince...do you have permission to copy and use his content?

if the source is quoted, how can it be plagiarism?

plagiarism is when you claim someone else's words as your own

someone mentioned that she has permission to use these devotionals

alot of people here use material from other sources or provide links. seems to be ok to do? no?

Yes......you are correct - they all have permission to be used and to encourage people to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for all things in this life and in the one to come.

I find that there is something in all devotionals from different people that can speak to us at any time in our life. The Holy Spirit uses these to encourage people.

We have a great salvation in Him and I don't believe we have even scratched the surface of what our Lord did for us.
