another good all round preacher,i like down to earth zac poonen. sticks to the basics which are often overlooked.. some of mcarthur(not all as his anti anything charismatic), pipers good, but from that crowd dont forget rc sproul, esp on the trinity and early fathers, dr michael browns also quite good from other end of spectrum, esp brown v white debates, with all teachings do check with bible for yourself, coming to your own conclusions. blessings..
There are people that God has anointed to teach on certain areas. When they go outside of their calling - that's when things can get "off" a bit in what they are teaching. To throw everything else they say because of this - is not wise.
My advice is to ask the Lord to send you the teachers that you need in the time that you are now in your walk with the Lord. He will be faithful to bring them to you.
I like what a brother said one time when asked about his views of the end times. " He said that he get give you what he believes but he's not sure whether it is true or not because the Lord has sent him to teach about faith and how to be led by the Spirit of God in our everyday life".
I like this kind of honesty.

well, his teaching has certainly made a big difference in my life
someone may come along and say he was on board with that shepherding movement and he was. however, he removed himself from it and publicly stated he disagreed with it when he saw it developed into a control mechanism

well I'll go one further
I was terribly stuck on something and having an awful time because I was told over and over that all you had to do was say 'I plead the blood'. now I don't mean to knock a denom here, but those were Pentecostals and I am not Pentecostal (sure I speak in tongues and believe the gifts are all for today) but I had friends in that denom and I was pretty young.
I do not believe saying 'I plead the blood' is a fix for what ails you or a word formula that causes the devil to gasp and flee
thankfully, someone placed a copy of Prince's leaflet in my hands concerning how demons can influence a Christian and voila! I had my answer and my cure

Only because you dont see something as a truth that I may see that way, doesnt mean its not truth. We all have different ways and maybe you OR my mind will change on that sometime.

The problem with preachers, teachers, leaders is that they are just like the rest of us, susceptible to failure, because they are in the spotlight we can see it more clearly. The most important thing to do, is to do your own honest bible study and never allow someone to tell you that what you can easily understand from the bible does not mean what it says. Never have respect of persons in the sense that you believe something simply because the person said it. Remember, Satan is out there looking for an opportunity to deceive you so be on your guard.
