The problem with preachers, teachers, leaders is that they are just like the rest of us, susceptible to failure, because they are in the spotlight we can see it more clearly. The most important thing to do, is to do your own honest bible study and never allow someone to tell you that what you can easily understand from the bible does not mean what it says. Never have respect of persons in the sense that you believe something simply because the person said it. Remember, Satan is out there looking for an opportunity to deceive you so be on your guard.
And at the same time, don't let yourself become so arrogantly stubborn that you always know better than the many teachers the Bible said God gave us to learn from. If they were not necessary, He would never have instituted them.

another vote for Derek Prince, his life story is well worth watching, I believe it is called "Derek Prince the man and his times"
John Wimber is another one, he is credited with founding the Vineyard churches.

Never assume that because a preacher or teacher claims that they are there by the design of God, that they are actually there by the design of God.

Dr. Charles Stanley is good for an outward form of G-dliness, Derek Prince and John Wimber, among others, will teach how to walk in the gifts of the Spirit that Jesus modeled for us and died to bring us on Pentecost.

I dont have problems with diatary rules? I just dont eat halal and said that it made sense back in the day to not eat pig when you live in ther desert where its hot..samonella and stuff. I eat pig and stuff I think you misunderstood that

Yea well I keep the sabbath on saturday usually when i can..is that so bad?

Yea I i explained that trinity thing dozens of times.

Only because you dont see something as a truth that I may see that way, doesnt mean its not truth. We all have different ways and maybe you OR my mind will change on that sometime.
Everybody can believe whatever he/she wants.... but if you do not accept the basic creeds of Christianity (I mean about Trinity) and then if you add sabbath and "no pigs" diet, it seems you are more a Jew than a Christian.

Because this is what they are mostly distinguished by :)

BTW not sure why do you liked my posts about this :D

Be careful listening to too much of John Wimber. He often said things some people would have rather not heard. LOL

When I want to find something out, many times I go to several commentaries & find what they agree on, because scripture says "At the mouths of two or three witnesses let every word be established."

As you already know I am quite new in the Faith and I have seen plenty of interesting videos by Derek Prince on YouTube, I would be very grateful if someone told me whether he is a good preacher and it is good material to watch.

Thank you very much in advance and many Blessings.

María
Derek Prince was a very good Preacher and there are many books written by him. I heard him speak once some years ago. He passed away in 2003. He was involved with a Ministry to Israel for many years and lived there for a length of time. For more information look up Derek Prince Ministries on the Internet. His books are also available on Amazon.

He teaches that a Christian can be possessed and be under a generational curse, BOTH of which are UNTRUE!

Christians CANNOT be possessed (have a demon in them) and CANNOT be under a generational curse (ie. held legally responsible for what some distant relation did generations ago). John 17v11, 1John 5v18, Ezek 18 (all), Gal 3v13...
You've supplied a rather narrow definition for "generational curse". The common usage of that term does not involve "legal responsibility" but "open door for demonic influence". God makes it clear in the Ezekiel 18 that each will die for his own sin; however, the issue is not who dies for it, but who suffers as a result of it.

What your post seems to advocate ("Generational curses aren't real, so disregard them") is about as deadly as "Radiation can't be seen, so it can't hurt you". It's a head-in-the-sand approach.

I always go by the old saying that one has to eat the meat and throw the bones away when reading someones teaching. The bible is or should be our standard against which anything written should be judged against. None of us are perfect. Because someone happens to be wrong on some point doesn't necessarily mean that their whole ministry is false.

I have been reading and listening to the Sermons of D Martin Lloyd-Jones. They are a treasure trove of great Bible teaching. You can find them by at the mljtrust.org. They carry my highest recommendations.

Derek Prince DOES NOT teach that a Christian can be possessed.

what he actually DOES do? he teaches from the Greek of the NT and explains the meanings of the different words used to describe the devil and his kingdom

he actually clears up the confusion many Christians seem to have and the misuse of the word possession with regards to demons and what they can and cannot do

Christians cannot be possessed and Prince NEVER says that they are. Christians can be harassed, influenced and bothered though and that is biblical

I get it his teachings are not that harmful it is a relief thank you very much God bless you

Thank you very much all of you, I have the names you told me and also a vew videos recommended by Willie-T, I will explore those. My conclusion is that Derek Prince is good but perhaps not what I need at this moment, I might get confused. But I really like some of his ideas. Perhaps when I have grown stronger in the faith, perhaps not. Many blessings to all of you and thanks again :)

I have to ask, are you sure you are talking about Derek Prince[died in 2003] or are you confusing him with Dr. Frederick Price[still alive]

We read many of his books and he did in fact claim Christians could be demonized. He mentored Frank and Ida Mae Hammond[Pigs in the parlor] and they also believed this. Prince without hesitation, claimed a Christian could be demonized

There are many stories in his books about delivering Pastors from demons, including demons of nicotine and demons of gluttony. Prince also always taught that a person had to cough up a wad of flem or black mist would need to come from their feet to confirm the deliverance was truly done. He pontificated that it took hours and hours to properly deliver someone, even from demons of nicotine and alcohol, wrath, anger, gluttony, and lust. It took Jesus and his own followers seconds, not hours.

It has not been proven and there is no evidence, but there was a rumor that about a year before he died he recanted and said his deliverance ministry was a hoax to help him live the lifestyle he did. He also stated the Holy Spirit showed him he was confusing demons for works of the flesh.

The fact that smoking is an addiction and not demonic gave us pause, but his real issue was claiming babies can be demonized in the womb of the mother.
