I'd recommend staying far from the world view of Jesus and sticking to how he presented himself. He was constantly rebuking people. Even a few of his own disciples. Constantly warning us in love about the dangers of sin and the true workings of judgement day on his return. Brood of vipers he said talking to hypocrites, whitewashed tombs he called those full of greed, slander, blaming the same for the blood of all the saints. It's not a good idea to try to bend Jesus to what man will accept. He was perfect how he presented himself.
merciful, gracious, stern, didn't mince words, didn't fear telling those who would be offended. Spoke rep tante, forgiveness, righteousness, taught obedience to his word. Expressed Gods love, spoke the deep things of God . Jesus wasn't going around telling people they were already perfect or they didn't need to repent and live right, he wasn't suggesting anything but teaching the direct word of the same exact God who flooded the world because of sin.
God is good, and he is also just, he wasn't vague about right and wrong, nor does he forget to give us the means to overcome the world and live in his Son.
