No. It says they escaped. And there is only one way to escape. And that is by God's mercy and grace. For He initiates it, no? Not of yourselves, correct?
your right, they escaped and came into a church body, and by association, was blessed,

it it never said they were saved.

I know a few people who went to church just to escape the world, because it was so much better and they were so blessed, but when asked if they are ready to recieve Christ, say they believe in many gods, or they are not ready yet, r they just do not beleve, just like being part of the club.

i have also been to churches where the only people who would even want their g are members of that church. Where evangelism is dead.

Yet this passage says they escaped. You can only escape by faith, no? Or is there any other way to escape the world biblically?
I can only assume you have never been in a church body where non believers are drawn because everyone there shows the love of God, and it is so peaceful

With all due respect, that is fiction. You are making this up. the Bible passage is clear. They escaped, then they were entangled again.

The person you describe above never escaped.

Interesting way to describe Judas Iscariot, what would be some of the verses in the bible that support Judas Iscariot as being bought by Jesus, I do know the verses that say Jesus was sold out by Judas Iscariot, though maybe I'm not understanding correctly what you mean?

You mentioned Jesus always knew Judas Iscariot was A devil, what do you mean by this?
Jesus said it, what did He mean by it?.

with all due respect, I havthink lived it, and I see it almost every week.

All you you have is your opinion of what you think he passage says, experience trumps opinion every day

If if you want to stand on judgment say and say lord lord look at all I have done in your name, and that is the basis of who God should let you in, you better think again, because Jesus says the tax collector that realized he had absolutely nothing to give God in payment for his sin, but was totally deserving judgment and condemnation went home justified, not the legalistic Pharisee.

Well we can be thankful that verse 20 clarifies it all..... for 'After' they have escaped.

So escape happened.
I looked up the word "escaped" in the Greek.

Greek word apopheugó

From

apo which means from, away from

and

pheugó which means to flee, run away

So 2 Peter 2:18 speaks of the false prophets / teachers who prey upon those who are attempting to flee, those who are seeking refuge in Christ.

The ones peter spoke about did outwardly. But their hearts were still darkened.

No need to change the topic. We are still on the word of God. In this passage.

You may have your experience, but this experience will be tested against the Word of God on judgement day.

It says they escaped. They were no longer entangled. Can only happen by a work of God.

Then they believed the lie. Just like Eve in the Garden. They were once again entangled, and overcome.

better fit that your God made a mistake and gave eternal life to someone he knew would walk always" interpretation. Mine fits, they fled the world in search of hope, and decided the hope offered was not what they were looking for, the false teachers led them away. Just like the Jews led many Jewish people who tried to follow Christ away to return to law,

imagine what hat these people will think for eternity, they had Gods truth in their grasp and let it go..

This passage says they escaped. Fact.
They escaped the corruption in the world through lust. That was the fact. They became decent people. Their soul condition was another matter.

Eternal life is granted once you overcome. Revelation Ch2 an Ch3.

You have a walk of faith to work out first. With fear and trembling I might add.

Many are called. Few are chosen.

No. It's simple. Continued faith.

These who are drawn away no longer live by faith.
