Someone in another post said the following:

Salvation is not the MOST important thing Jesus came to do.

That's a fact.

That's a biblical fact.
Can someone tell me what He did which was apart from fulfilling God's salvational plan?

It was the ONLY thing he came to do! "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." Lk. 10:19. Everything else he did was toward that one end.

Hello Old Hermit,

There is not one thing I can think of which could possibly suggest that He came for any other reason than what you quoted.

I am at a total lost as to how someone can come to that conclusion in the OP....

Well, dear saints of the living God,

The Lord Jesus Himself said that the Son of Man has come:

1. to serve (Matt. 20:28)

2. to give His life as a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28)

3. NOT to condemn the world, but to SAVE the world (John 3:17)

4. to reveal the Father (Matt. 11:27)

5. to do the will of the Father (John 6:38)

6. to testify of the Truth (John 3:37)

7. to preach the Gospel to the poor (Luke 4:18)

8. to heal the brokenhearted (Luke 4:18)

9. to proclaim liberty to the captives and set the prisoner free (Luke 4:18)

10. to restore sight to the blind (Luke 4:18)

11. to proclaim the acceptable year of YHWH (Luke 4:19)

12. to fulfill the Law (Matt. 5:17)

13. to give life more abundantly (John 10:10)

14. to give eternal life (John 10:28)

15. to call sinners to repentance (Mark 2:17)

16. to bring judgement (John 9:39)

17. to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10)

...is the Lord Jesus wonderful, or is He abundantly marvelous!!? :)

15It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. 16Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.…

1 Timothy 1

I think, most would agree. salvation is the most important thing God's given those who faith-fully believe in Him . :)

That's a fact.

God wants everyone to be saved, wants 'none to perish,' per 2 Peter 3:9 . 'Course, as bananaanapie said, in so many 'sweet' numbers, plus one, it's maybe not 'trustworthy' to say but it's Truth that Jesus thought an awful lot of things important to bring to us while on Earth, as per from His Father's authority.:)

Is bringing glory to God important? MOst important. "Whatever you do, do it to bring glory to God."

Certainly. That is Truth, I like that answer. well said, creationtutilage :)

31Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

I would think that even an Universalist would say that Jesus' purpose was to fulfill God's plan of salvation....even for those who have/had no faith in Christ....

Amen!!!!!

And all to fulfill what God had planned from eternity - a "salvational" return to what was lost in Eden :)

True, cee, just thinking they don't think anyone dies so salvation is a simple thing in their mind that everyone gets automatically, salvation with Christ. How wrong they are :(

I guess to see if salvation was or was not Jesus' main goal in having come to Earth?

His purpose :) The Lord leads :)

Jesus came to Earth to save us from sins. It 's a good reminder. That's why God sent Jesus to Earth as a reality check that we were 'Enemy of God,' ALL of us, but God sent His Son to Earth and to the cross for death to sacrifice and be a propitiation (go-between, peace offereing, justification) for our being able to be one with God, again,to get His most precious gift, which is, indeed, for us, SALVATION.

And we WILL glorify God the FAther in so living our lives and we will relish and revel and marvel at His great works upon our life in our time on planet Earth, seeking to do His will, just as He set out on Earth to do the will of His Father. :)

We've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

In your mind, is there anything more important than that ??????????? :)
