We've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

In your mind, is there anything more important than that ??????????? :)
Me? Nope!

His birth, His life, His death, His resurrection = Salvation from beginning to ending = God's merciful love shown in Jesus = Jesus our Savior

Like totally agree! :)

And let's remember His Atonement, His Millennial Reign, His Sovereignty, His Justice, His Peace, His Love, His Return.

1 For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. 2 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

1 - Isaiah 55:10-11
2 - John 3:16
Version NASB

So God didn't send His Son in vain, didn't Jesus come down from heaven and went back up? Didn't Isaiah say that what God said wouldn't return to Him empty? So Jesus did come to bring salvation for those who believe. This is the most important thing a believer should know. :)

so was there a point to this thread?
Can't speak for the person that started the thread........but for me it is a joy to see the "unity" here on CC in our praise of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, and a confirmation of God's Salvation Plan............but, that may just be me........so.....

Matthew 22:36:

One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, 36"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37And He said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'

JUST A THOUGHT, BUT IS THIS NOT WHAT JESUS SAID HE CAME TO DO?

John 17:1) These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 .) As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 .) And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 .) I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 .) And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 .) I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 .) Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 .) For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 .) I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 .) And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 .) And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 .) While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 .) And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 .) I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 .) I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 .) They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 .) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 .) As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 .) And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 .) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 .) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 .) And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 .) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 .) Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 .) O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 .) And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Would glorifying God be a 'thing, ' rehbeinbro ? :)

I see what is being said, yes, WE are to bring glory to God, LOL, not being glib, just saying, I quoted this verse a little earlier in another post. :)

1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Anyway, YES ! Jesus came to Earth to bring glory to God, but His most impotant 'thing' was going to that cross and saving ALL people from their sins and this is the kicker, SAVE THEM FROM DEATH IN THE GROUND FOREVERMORE, so, that IF any man whosoever should choose Him as their personal Saviour, choose to follow Him, based on His 'great' act, they can crucify themself in Christ's great sacrifice, therefore, choosing to be with Him forevermore after they die on Earth
:) . THAT is most important. :)

and that is included in the quoted Chapter.............it all follows vs. 4) I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

This is a detailed description of what Jesus came here to do...........well, as I read it anyway........

Jesus came to teach not only to be saved, but how to do so while living in an Ungodly world. He never taught " Togetherness". He taught dedication and Holiness unto him, and not to be yoked together with Sinners, and Carnal minded people...

OK,pbllankrehbein, I do not see Jesus bringing glory to God as the most important thing in my life, although this is very important.
The question cee asks has a personal tone, and, for me, the most important thing Christ did for me was die on the cross FOR ME :) and YOU :) and EVERYONE on planet Earth, male and female, Christian and non-Chrisitan .

This was Jesus Christ's greatest of importance acts done on Earth . :)

But, yes, Jesus did not do anything on Earth via His own authority--which He could have done, of course, because Jesus IS God--but by His Father in heaven. In so doing and even saying this, Jesus was bringing all glory to God. :)

How do you not see this? Establishing God's salvation plan for all mankind was the work that God gave Jesus to do......how much more personal does it get for us? :)

P_R and Greenie,

You both are saying the same thing, but in different words and understandings. The most important thing Jesus came to do was to fulfill God's will and that will was that He should die for His sheep.

God's will = Salvation
Jesus' fulfillment = Salvation

Everything about Jesus spells salvation.....
