Let me if i may, try to explain why The "Holy Ghost/Spirit" is called HE....
JOHN 4 VERSE 24 "God is A SPIRIT, And those that worship HIM must worship him in Spirit and in truth" (KJV) . Sooo how many Spirits are there?...ONE...God is the only Spirit. The Trinity doctrine speaks of "3 Persons" which is a Myth started by The Catholic Church in 325 AD at the Council of Nicea, then later Adopted by most Christian Churches until this day. If "Person" is defined in accuracy; there is only ONE PERSON, God, in his created Human Body, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is/was both Spirit and Human in nature THE SON. However Jesus, although tempted on all points as all humans are, never committed one sin, nor was guile from his mouth ever heard. The Purpose of Jesus (God) being born in a human body, was to teach us how to live, and die eventually for all our sins at Calvary. The sacrifice for sins in the OT was by Spotless, Cattle, Goats. This was pointing to the NT where only a Spotless Human being could become our perfect sacrifice for God to forgive us...Read: Hebrews Chapter Nine,
for full explanation.
God is the only Perfect Being, and he created Jesus also perfect from birth to Dying on the Cross that ever lived.
Getting back to The "Trinity" of 3 "Persons":
We Read where God is a Spirit, and the Bible declares there is only ONE SPIRIT, NOT PERSON #1 (God "The Father") and Person #3 "The Holy Spirit/ Holy Ghost" Nor is "Person #2" in The Godhead another "Person" Jesus even told us who he was: John 10 verse 30: " I, AND MY FATHER ARE ONE". In John The Apostle asked Jesus "Lord, show us THE FATHER, Abd it suffices us". Jesus said: " Have I been so long with you Philip, you ask this? HE THAT HAS SEEN ME, HAS SEEN THE FATHER, So why say
"Show us The Father"? The Father and The Son in this case are ONE. We men all have a Father but we cannot say "I and my Father are ONE" because we are 2 seperated individuals.
God being a Pure Spirit, nobody has ever seen in pure Spirit; could not die for our sins because a SPIRIT CANNOT DIE, OR SHED BLOOD. Only His created fleshly body (Jesus ) could do that.
Questions? Be glad to answer.
You seem to deny the trinity.
But the trinity is revealed in scripture. I know that many religions with false gods deny this, including the big popular one for the moment that says their god is not a father and their god has no son, so you're not the first to espouse this view.
But the bible, and the TRUE and living God says different.
The bible even states that if you don't have the Son, (Jesus) you don't have (God) the Father either.
And not only are there many passages where the trinity is found, but there are places where the trinity is in one verse, and at one event, distinctly, in three persons.
See Jesus' baptism, for instance.....
Jesus is in the water. The Holy Ghost comes upon Him, and God the Father speaks from heaven...they obviously could hear HIM, so God is a person...He has personage, personhood and personality.
Three distinct persons at one event.
Jesus said He would go, and the Holy Ghost would come, to be with us and in us. Jesus said HE the Holy Spirit would teach us, He would comfort us, He guides us into the truth, He exalts Jesus, He intercedes for us, convicts, reproves, etc. etc., you get the drift.
The Holy Ghost is God, but is obviously not the Son, nor is He the Father. But He has personality, therefore a person. Not as we understand a man or a woman, but personage, personhood all the same.
So we see three persons, but one God. Distinct but not separate.
We see the Holy Spirit referred to as Christ's Spirit. Jesus said His Spirit. The bible also says God's Spirit. All God, and yet Jesus said the Father would send the Spirit in His name. Go figure.
And all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Jesus. Go figure THAT.
Can our finite minds as creatures use the creation to understand, define, and explain the Creator? Lol, that's cute to even think we can, but we sure do try, don't we, lol.
We're limited to time and space and certain dimensions, and God is so much bigger and multi-faceted than we can imagine.
And unfortunately when we struggle to understand, we tend to deny.
But explaining the personage of God completely may just be beyond us.
That doesn't make it any less true.
The bible says Christ in you, the hope of glory.
We believe it, but how to explain it?
