Much information is lost when the context is ignored.
Acts 4:34-37 (KJV)
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, [SUP]35 [/SUP]And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. [SUP]36 [/SUP]And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, [SUP]37 [/SUP]Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

We see here at least two reasons why christians were selling their valuables & donating the money to the Apostles:
1. To make sure everyone had what they needed, whether for survival, or active ministry.
2. To sell what they had for they would no longer need it because they were going into the ministry.

Barnabas is mentioned here out of the blue. Why? He sold his property because of his compassion for the church, as well as he would be going into full-time ministry. IMO Barnabas was mentioned just before Ananias & Sapphira because he was sold-out in his commitment to God. I think this couple was impersonating committed christians, keeping up with the Jones, so to speak.

Their scheme was premeditated. They deceived the church, lied, & had absolutely no remorse when called on the carpet. In other words, sinners playing church. How could even a cold christian consider such a thing?
It is great to see another man of God give proper context to what happened here.

So lets continue in this vein...

1 Cor. 11-For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 30For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.31But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.…

We ask why some are not healed. What do you think of these verses?

as true today as always.
"if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged." is not taught 'rightly' anywhere..... practically...
and it's a long, long, long distance from "we can't judge" (although most cannot, that's true, sadly, as no one knows what 'right-ruling' is in practice and experience; ... almost no one)
and it requires ten commandments , "all of GOD'S WORD (every WORD that proceeds ...) "
not the infamous "2" upon which the ten hang. hanging 10 on 2 does not invalidate any.(the false gospel
forgets this.)

as for as being healed -=-- people REFUSE to be healed today - they 'prefer' to be sick, it seems.

listening to man instead of GOD'S WORD has led to this in most people today.

This verse demonstrates what can happen if you continue to live in SIN and become or stay a carnal Christian.

This scripture & the the last one have some things in common..... the judgement of both could have been easily averted if the people repented..... but they didn't. In both cases, the sin is intentional, not a "I fell" situation. In this scripture, if God judged every person that had sinned, we would have all died for taking communion unworthily. Those who actually were judged was because they didn't care. They weren't convicted of their sins. They sin in God's house in His face. Therefore their judgement is just.

I think many aren't healed because they don't fear the God they sin against.

I was going to mention the healing aspect of the verse and forgot so I am glad you did.

I was working a prayer line at a meeting I was invited to and came to a lady who came up for prayer for a very severe case of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Her hands, feet and body were twisted and turned with it. As I approached her I heard the Holy Spirit tell me, that she is bound by un-forgiveness and has a root of bitterness against a girl she grew up with, who married the young man she wanted to and had never forgave her.

When I stopped to her I told her that in order for her to be healed, meant she had to forgive the woman. She looked at the floor and then she looked at me and tears came streaming down her face and I heard a voice deep in her spirit say. WE WILL NEVER FORGAVE THAT HARLOT for taking her man. The woman looked at me, the tears vanished and her eyes glinted wiht bitterness and anger and and she said: SO be it preacher man, I will never forgive that woman and I like the voices that keep my anger hot for her and she hobbled off.

I was told a few weeks after that, that woman died from complications of the disease. This woman was oppressed by a spirit of infirmity and would not lower her pride to simply forgive that woman and because of that she died.

We see this a lot and even more now than ever and everytime it breaks your heart, but you can not ever go against a persons will.
